Alright. I'll leave my setup the same for now, since I just flashed this ROM maybe a week ago, but I'll probably get Superclean in the near future.

I can tell you that the current version SuperClean 2.8 has a really nice (not stock) boot animation (Xoom)..

It also has the patch for the Droid Dream trojan, and seems to run really well.

Currently the best ROM for me - I use my phone a LOT.

I don't know how to do patches. :( And does SuperClean come with all of those fonts like EB01 did? Or did the fonts come with the Superdark theme? #noobquestion

I have a choice of four fonts on my 2.8 without a special theme. I think patches you run from the red cwm.

Patches are basically zip files that you flash in CWM. In this case (2.8) the virus patch in already included in the package. The font options are built into 2.2 (froyo) ROMS... You will still have that as an option on 2.8.

If you choose to take the plunge there are a bunch of guys here more than willing to help you through it. DriodXcon, Landshark, Sheedog Elite, gunnermike53, Chris Kerrigan and Chris3D... The list goes on.. LOTS of help..

will these work with other phones?

I would hazard the answer to that is 'no.' These patches are developed for a specific file structure (Samsung Fascinate) and the ROM that is being patched. Flashing to a different phone via a different CWM will likely end in something unpleasant.

Easiest explination is to copy the file to your sdcard. Make sure that you have a file manager that has root access (Super Manager (free) or Root Explorer *(not free) - Ensure that you have read/write enabled in your file manager - look i the directory system/media and delete the file bootanimation.zip file (long press - delete)..

Go back to the sdcard - find where you put the bootanimation.zip file - copy the file (long press - copy) -> return to system/media and paste....

Back out - reboot - enjoy pretty purple honeycomb.

I must be a dummy......followed these steps and can't get anything but the word "ANDROID" to show up during boot. I have Root Explorer and found and deletedd and copied everything just like you said. When I copied the new zip to the system/media, it shows up in the media. What am I missing?

Non voodoo SC 2.6 with Midnight blue theme (if that matters) - was actually trying to get one of his other boot aminations to come up......don't like the Panther eyes.

Oh and i downloaded using my phone right to the SD card. - first time i had ever done that and not using a PC. It showed up so I figured it must be ok. ???

Which boot animation did you download? I have encountered this type of issue described in this thread.. I may have to chase down a possible solution.

I know that gunnermike53 had multiple boot animations loaded and ended up reflashing his base ROM to resolve the issue. Then he could put in the boot ani he wanted.

Started with Steel Blue V1.2 sc2.6 since I figured it was set up for sc2.6. Then I tried AndroidGlow1 (still sitting in media) just to see if I could get anything to work and neither would. I'll try reflashing and see.

Hoping someone could help me out here.. I had a friend drop by and see me the other day, any while we were comparing our rommed and hacked fascinates, he showed me his awesome shutdown animation being like an old tv shutting off. I'd love to get this on SC 2.9, and have read the the threads on this, but can't seem to get it to work. Anyone else have a suggestion for shutdown animation?

Flash Blue Steel theme as it is built into it :)

Do you have confirmation that it is compatible? Just making sure :D

It should be compatible. - Just have to drop it in the correct file location. I have been flying through themes recently and I know that this shutdown is packaged with Steel Blue 1.4..

Given this I know it will work with SC 2.9.

Both gunnermike53 and I created and kept this thread up to date until the ROMs were not supporting boot animations..

I know that there has been an occasional peak in interest.

Given enough interest I can cut the links out of the first post and edit out the dead links and we can start providing some support.
