<br><br> showng up when replying to emails

phd12volt - I cannot find a box that says, "Block external content in HTML e-mail messages." Any ideas on where it is? This issue has been driving me nuts for months. Thanks.

I don't understand how such an option would fix this issue. This is a problem when sending email from the phone client - how could changing an option in your desktop client fix this?

Regardless, I never tried it and the <br>'s haunt me still.

I just got rid of the <br> after several hours on the phone with Sprint support.

1. They had me delete my Microsoft Exchange account from my phone.
2. Then re-install it.
3. It still was giving the dreaded <br> in the messages.
4. Removed my battery and re-started the phone.
5. Problem solved!!!!!:)

I hope this works for everyone and anyone.

Good luck!

This did not work for me.

It's the stock e-mail client. After trying 2-3 different ones, I ended up with TouchDown. Free trial... Worth paying for if used for business.

I highly doubt it is "his phone" since I have the problem and apparently others do too. Many different phone types so the only common thread is Froyo email app.

The email app worked fine until I upgraded to froyo. NOTHING on my end changed other than the upgrade to froyo (which admittedly changed a lot of stuff).

Someone PLEASE provide a solution. PLEASE PLEASE PLEASE.
The only workaround I've found to get rid of the <br> tags (short of installing a separate email app) when replying to an email is clicking on the red negative in the upper right corner of the trailing original message after I've written my reply but before I send. The disadvantage is that you lose the email trail.

If I need to forward an email, or if I need to include the email trail, I open a browser on my phone and login to my company's webmail application and do it within that application.

This works.. but is an unfortunate workaround. I'll be putting up with it until GB, since I really didn't like any of the 3rd party email apps out there.

I've been working on this problem for over 6 months, with several techs in our corporate IT department as well as numerous support people at Sprint. I've also consulted some very smart techies, with no success. For the record, I use ActiveSync for our Outlook Exchange, and here is the bottom line.

Save your time and frustration and spend the $20 on Touchdown. I should have done this months ago, but I just did and it fixed everything!!

I use exchange active sync and have about 200 clients emailing me from all kinds of email apps and phones, and have not once had this issue with the default client with HTML or text or any other kind of original source email.

That's interesting.. I have not heard of anyone not having this issue on Epic with 2.2 and stock email client.
