Brand New Galaxy S10 Plus has had "39 battery discharge cycles" out of the box?

Hi, I just bought a brand new Samsung Galaxy S10 Plus from an online retailer with a very good seller rep (99.3%). However, there was no seal on the box (I later read that some people's phones didn't come with a seal on the box, even straight from Samsung). But mine also had no writing on the back/bottom of the box as far as specs or model numbers. It was just a black S10+ box that otherwise looked as legit as the other boxes I've seen. All the plastic stuff was on the phone though, right down to the clear plastic stickers along the metal chassis. All the accessories were there as well.

Given that this seemed shady, I downloaded the Phone Info Sam app to check things like whether the phone is refurbished. The app says the phone is original. But if it's seller refurbished, it might not show up in that app.

Anyway, that same app shows "battery discharge cycles" and it's listed as "39." I literally just got the phone today, so I definitely didn't go through that many charging cycles.

Is this shady? Normal? Any info is appreciated!

How you doing ? It's hard to say , I don't trust the accuracy on those apps but you'll know in the long haul how it will be .,it's risky buying 2nd hand phones you'll either be good or get a bad one .

I'm doing well my friend, haven't been on the forum for a while. I totally agree with you. I should have known the price was too good to be true. The problem is T-Mobile doesn't have any S10 Pluses in 512gb or 1tb left in stock and the phone is overpriced on the Samsung website.

I think I'll be returning this one. Thank you!

Just a little too big and unwieldy for me, man. It's a fantastic device though. I really value one-handed use almost full-time. I think the S10 Plus is pushing it in that regard. I also just love the design and really want that ceramic black! You using the Note10+?

Gotcha ,yeah Note 10+ really good phone , and I like the boxy look and feel .

If the "online retailer" was via eBay or Amazon (or someone else reliable), I'd ask for a replacement. 39 cycles isn't that bad - unless it was discharged to near 0, in which case it's very bad. (And the app can't tell whether it was discharged to 90% then recharged, or 2% and then recharged.)

I tried Phone Info app , but I can't find the option to see Power recycle..?

Re: Brand New Galaxy S10 Plus has had "39 battery discharge cycles" out of the box?

Phone info is accurate , well it was on Android 9 and 8. Because that was the first app I'd install and it would show the correct discharged cycles out of the box new as 0 or 1.

My current s10+ shows 66 charge cycles .when new it showed 1 or zero. My device is a snapdragon model.

Can you send me the phone info app link,
