They told me that I couldn't cancel it because it had already been processed. I asked did this mean it had shipped and they said it wouldn't ship until 04/11 at the earliest. They said my only option is to send it back when I get it, which kind of defeats the purpose.

S5's arrived this morning at our local Bestbuy. Had a buddy tell me he saw them in the back warehouse. Good mix of both colors. Also stated they won't be sold until Fri at the BB

Why would you pick best buy over Verizon asurion? Both cover physical damage. Only benefit is best buy has 3 claim limit total whereas Verizon asurion has 2 claim limit per year. So if you need insurance that third time in a year then best buy would be better.

IF i was on Verizon i wouldnt give them more money then i have to... So out of principle i would get Bestbuy insurance over verizon imo

Best Buy just sent me an email containing a code to get the $10 gift card for pre-ordering. I pre-ordered in-store on 4/4/14. Two more days, and I hope to pick up my BLACK GS5!

Or buying unlocked?

Or new customer/new contract?

From my experience, transferring an existing number from a different carrier sometimes can be glitchy or just a pain. They make it sound like a simple, automated process, but it rarely is.

I am paying outright ($649) and remaining with AT&T.

If you buy a phone at Best Buy but need a standard warranty replacement will the carrier send it out? Or do you have to buy a device direct from Verizon for that?

I pre ordered one on 04/06 in my local store. $25 down on a gift card. Emailed contact info today to setup my appointment. Going in 9 am Friday before store hours to get activated.

Of course I'm ditching Sprint (finally) and getting on my GF's Verizon plan. They initially would not let me pre order the device since I was gonna be an add on line. She had to go in with me and put it in her name and they had to create a random number to go with the order. Said they would do the port during my appointment. No big deal, just gotta play by the games of their system. Either way I'll have my hands on my brand new phone with REAL service in less than 36 hours.

I ordered from BestBuy on 4/4. Still nothing changed on my order as of today. He states that I will get it Friday but I am not that optimistic.
