Buying next spring/summer: Cheaper Note 9 or S10+?

Considering 5G is new, this is going to be like the 4G roll out. The lack of wide coverage means leaving 5G on will rape your battery with the phone keeping on looking for signal. I'd skip 5G for at least until the time of the Note 11 I suppose.

That's true also , hopefully they will have button to enable/disable it

By the way that was a good tip on s9 forum about Nice catch app.

All phones are getting ridiculously expensive with every release and it is so because people always buy it so that will never change. If people stop buying then maybe they will reconsider changing their prices, but with everyone's obsession to getting new phones they're just letting manufacturers know that the pricing is good. I'll be keeping my Note 9 for a long while. It is the first phone where I am 100% satisfied with and I dont need a new phone every time it's out. As long as this beauty works, I'll be good.

I couldn't give a flying fart about 5G for at least 12 months as it will hardly be available anywhere and where it will be they will charge an arm and a leg for it

I went from the 7 Edge to the Note 8 only cause of specs camera and battery. Always said I would never want a Note cause of it being so big and I have little hands. I ended up liking the Note a lot it was fast and had a good camera. I just never used the pen. I messed with it a little but it was a little too tall for me and when the 9 plus came out I couldn't wait. I guess I am a phone junky and I have been saving for a few months plus will sell my 9 plus that I own it's unlocked.

Last year my work had a thing where we took this survey answered a bunch of questions through our health insurance and got to pick a $450 gift card and I chose Best Buy well it was supposed to happen again on 1/14 and it's being delayed. I was hoping for that gift card again but have money saved up just in case it doesn't happen but if it does then I'll have enough money if I want to get the 512 version and a case or two.

I read you won't be able to use a screen protector cause of the in finger print thing is that true?

Will be watching specks for the 10, however the 9 has everything I want and more. I would rather have a little smaller phone and almost considered the + models. The battery on the note sold me. The pen, well I dont really use it and this is my first Note so maybe it will grow on me.

just because a phone will have the capability for 5g dont mean carrier wont charge extra to use it , so something to think about. I'm fine with 4g LTE until 5g becomes how 4g LTE is now

So I should get the S10 Plus and not worry about 5G correct. My last 2 phones have been unlocked cause I thought I might leave Sprint but then I realized I'm on an old good grandfathered plan I get 22% discount from my work and am mostly on wifi their is just a few little times on an occasion I am trying to live video on FB and don't have good signal.

I was wondering if their would be an unlocked 5G version and if I should get it just in case 5G comes out sooner than expected but from what everyone is saying here just get the 10 plus and wait for the next 5G phone. If I get this $450 Best Buy gift card again from work through my insurance plus sell my 9 Plus and I have like 400 saved up I'll be able to afford it but besides being 5G I don't really know the other differences in specs except it's a big 6.7 inch screen and it may be too big for me my hands are small. LOL! And I read more cameras on the back but I don't know much else. And I saw something about 5G the X and then another called Bold I think.

I just can't wait till 2/20 to watch the event and see what's really true and what it really looks like. I have no interest in the foldable phone I know that. But I keep reading this person on you tube keeps posting videos and saying official and then he says watch the official live event 2/20 so Ill just wait and see. I know for the most part what the specs will be. I hope the battery is at least 4100 though to make it bigger than the note's 4000 which I know isn't much but it should be since it's newer.

Yeah if you get the s10 plus it will have 5g capability so even if it takes 2020 to have it that phone is future proof. Definitely to keep cost down sell the s9+ every little bit helps.battery wise anything 4000 or above is a welcome.

Thanks! I have been reading articles and forums and watching you tube videos and and I am sure I'll be fine with the S10 Plus and the 5G 6.7 might be too big for me but might have an awesome battery too but I am happy going from my 3300 on the 9 Plus to 4000 or 4100 on the 10 plus so I'm sure I'll be good. I am still waiting on these 2 external battery packs from Samsung that were like a deal of the day I saw on slick deals. Their on B/O till like 2/22 I got them for like 14 a piece with a few bucks knocked off of each one in rewards.

Your welcome, the s9+ battery is 3500mah I have that device also lol
Battery pack for s10 plus?

I wouldn't make any decision or even spend time thinking about until a good few weeks after 20th February simply to get some real life customer reviews, I'm not paying extra for 5G anyway if I can avoid it but I guess the Note 10 will have it in all versions anyway

I would not get the s10 plus. I would just wait until late Aug, Sept and get the Note 10.

Yeah not really caring about 5G and definitely not willing to pay a Samsung premium for it. I believe it will take probably closer to 2 years to really see 5g everywhere. In the meantime I'm more than satisfied with 4g performance in my area and will only get better as more people move to 5g and the potential of 5ge until I decide when to move from my Note 8 and buy a new phone.

I was wrong I said the 9 plus had 3300 battery it is 3500 but still I hope the S10 Plus has at least 41 beating the Note 9's 4000. And I am starting to agree with everyone and because of the price leaning away from the 5G. Plus my husband want's the S10 plus now after me telling him all about it last night and he has the Note 8. I got 400 for my Note 8 when I got my 9 plus and the same kiosk in the mall said his Note 8 is only worth 185 and my 9 plus 200 and something I think she just said that's crazy. I expected at least 4 or 500 for mine but maybe Samsung will be giving better deals. They were giving 600 for the 9 plus when the Note 9 came out.

In all versions? Isn't their usually just one Note or are they having different versions of the Note also?

I think it depends on how often you will want to use the s pen. I use mine pretty frequently. Also you can use it to control music and your camera.
