Camera in low light

Hello. I noticed when I try to take pictures, typically in low light situations, (even video), I see this strange artifact on on the view finder (like little light spots all over the frame, and they tend to shift as I move the phone. They also translate to the actual picture/video after its taken.
Is this a known issue?

Yes. I think the issue is software. Not lens related (I hope)

Its debatable, here is a shot I took in low light (with just the backlight)

I've not tried it yet, but I found another post with similar issues as I'm experiencing... (not Pixel phone, but issue is seen on the first picture)..

I'm not using RAW. only JPG.
Anyone noticed this? I also see it on video. But it depends on lighting conditions. This morning I tried taking a picture of the full moon, and I saw a bunch of these dots on my viewfinder, without even taking the pic.

Ok.. So it seems that it is not in low light situations, but when there is a light source. Look at the dot on the grass area.
During nighttime with street lights, I noticed a lot more dots scattered throughout the picture. This is visible on the viewfinder as well as the picture after processing. So maybe lens issue????

Looks like a very precise lens flare. If it adjust the screen position as you move the phone, then that's what it is. Though usually they are the larger type like around the sun in that pic. Unfortunately there's nothing you can do about it other than to not have a light source directly in the frame.

Loads of phones have that same dot especially in sunlight. I see it on Samsung's & also on my Honor Play

It’s light reflection from the lens inside. Almost every lens will have that to some extent or other.
