Camera on Nexus 5 has a magnetic ring for bigger lenses?

There atleast 3 magnetic spots on the back of my black 32G Nexus 5.
If I pass the device over the magnetic closure on the pouch, just right, the device wakes, sometimes.

Could have something to do with the hall sensor i saw listed in the specs somewhere. If I remember correctly, a hall sensor is there for flip cover cases to give it an auto sleep and auto wake feature like on the nexus 7.

Edit: Just confirmed with the flip case on my 2013 nexus 7. It will turn on and off the screen on my n5.

And it sticks on perfectly in place for the lens. There are a few issues, the magnet is not very strong. It can stay on itself but it can be easily knocked off. Another is there is a focusing issue, not sure if its the app or the lens, but the focus hunt is a lot worse with the lens. Hell, its probably the terrible lighting conditions.

The N5 lens is the most magnetic spot on my N5. I went searching for the heaviest thing I could find that the lens would hold upside down which turned out to be a small metal bell from my cat's collar. Some small screws also worked but the bell was bigger for the photo. The bell doesn't stick to anything but the lens on the N5. If you put the bell on the glass side of the N5 and let it slide around like a hockey puck on ice the only place that has any magnetic properties on the front glass is just behind the Camera lens.

This picture of the N5 was taken with my 2012 Nexus 7 that was outside for light under the patio umbrella. My N7 has no flash and this the first time I have found a use for it's forward facing camera.
