Camera question

Hello everyone long time moto fan boy since Droid OG.. I'm coming from the OG turbo.. This phone is snappy and smooth to use.. Apps are running great battery life Is great! But the camera sucks! The screen is not so great.. But I'll take it over a battery hog 4k screen.. The camera though.. I've never had a great phone camera since I've only owned Motorola androids.. The the OG turbo 21mp shooter was much better.. So was the camera app too..

Anyone have any tips on getting better shots with this thing? I turned off auto HDR because that automatically made pictures more grainy..

The camera certainly isn’t flagship quality but I have found it to be pretty solid in decent light. It does have a very strange over sharpening effect which is especially noticeable when taking pictures that have a dark foreground item in front of a bright background. Not sure that is possible to disable....

Yes it fails completely with a dark foreground
