Can a hacker delete an email thread if I have email chatted with a sales company in China on an LG Enact before I access Gmail on new G4? My Enact started doing weird things like throw me off the web and turn the screen black, opening the wrong program when I hit right icon, etc. When I called Verizon Technical, the tech looked at my situation and said I had corrupted my OS! Today I find I am without an email thread record of an online purchase for which a Chinese company billed me but did not supply what they charged for! I am positive I did not delete the thread. Was my Enact and Gmail hacked? Is my Gmail and new G4 at risk from them?

In a word, yes. If a hacker gains access to your Gmail password they can pretty much do anything they want within your account. Change your password, and use a secure password generator. Norton has a free one online just Google it.

Also save your passwords, because these are ones you won't be able to remember from the top off your head unless you're a genius as the they'll be a mix of letters, numbers and symbols.

Personally I use 'Avast Passwords' to save them, and again there is a free version that will more than suffice.

Re: Can hacker access email password

If you open a file that you shouldn't or if you give up too much information about yourself, yeah... although the latter is not necessarily 'hacking' your phone rather than 'hacking' your brain into giving up information for them to work out your password.
