MMS Issues
I'm having an odd MMS issue. I've tried four different messaging apps, including the stock app, and they all had issues. So it seems to either be with the G4 or with T-Mobile. I'm wondering if anyone has seen anything similar on their G4, or has ideas for troubleshooting.
In both the stock Messaging app and Google Messenger, I occasionally get an MMS with a Download icon. If I tap the icon, nothing happens (Google Messenger at least tells me it's unable to download and to try again). Size is about 2kb, so it's not too big. In Textra and Handcent, both apps occasionally pop up a notification that says "Can't get MMS" and tells me to check my APN settings. Those apps don't show me the bad MMS like the other two apps, just the error.
In case it's relevant, it seems to be specific to emails sent to text (from a monitoring system, Zabbix, used at work). I receive most of the messages just fine, but a few randomly have that error, so it's not all emails to text that are failing. I haven't seen the issue with texts from other phones yet.
My APN settings:
Name: T-MOBILE LTE
APN: fast . t-mobile . com (formatting due to my low post count, can't post links)
Proxy: Not set
Port: Not set
Username: Not set
Password: Not set
MMSC: http :// mms . msg . eng . t-mobile . com / mms / wapenc
MMS proxy: Not set
MMS port: Not set
MCC: 310
MNC: 260
Authentication type: Not set
APN type: default,supl,mms
APN Protocol: IPv6
What I've tried so far, based on some google searching:
Set the MMS port to 80. Set username to "None" rather than leaving it blank. Changed APN Protocol to IPv4 and IPv4/IPv6.
None of those have had any effect. Are others seeing this on the G4, and has anyone found a way to resolve it?
