HTC One m9 Sprint connectivity issues

Ever since I got my One m9 at Sprint a couple weeks ago I have been having constant roaming and connectivity issues. I have roaming turned on for domestic data and voice. I have tried LTE/CDMA mode and just CDMA mode. I restarted a couple times. I updated the PRL and once it was done it said no sim card, so I restarted again. I have sprint connections optimizer turned off. I have power saver on but I unchecked CPU power and Data connection to see if that would help. I checked for a software update.

Is there anything else I can try? Thank you!

Re: HTC One m9 Sprint connectivity issues

Welcome to Android Central! Just curious--have you talked to Sprint about the connectivity issues?

Re: HTC One m9 Sprint connectivity issues

Welcome to the club, my M9 does the same thing. I've talked to Sprint CS on the phone, had a store rep look at it and read Sprint's own forums. So they know about it but haven't figured out how to resolve this issue.
It seems that when the M9 leaves a LTE area for a 3G, it loses its data connection and slips into roaming.
Very frustrating.

Re: HTC One m9 Sprint connectivity issues

i can confirm same issues here. the service has been absolutely atrocious. 75% of the time I have zero data service. sadly I think there's not much that can be done. sprint service is just awful in most places, I think this was the final straw to make me switch to another provider. it's too embarrassing when im in Downtown Los Angeles and a friend asks me to google a quick answer while they're driving and im stuck with no data service.

Re: HTC One m9 Sprint connectivity issues

I thought it was just me! I too am on sprint and I upgraded from the m7 to m9. My m7 was always fine but when I went to the m9, I was having the roaming issues etc just as the previous commentors. I even swapped my m9 for another one figuring it was a defective handset. The replacement has the same issue. I m close to switching to another handset if this keeps up.

apparently its a big sprint issue not just with the M9. theyre having the same issues with the S6 and S6 edge. for some reason with both new devices they cant figure out the radios or something and its causing major issues. sprint is such a joke.

If you guys find a good deal with another carrier, count me in I have a note 4 and signal is hit or miss here as well.

Re: HTC One m9 Sprint connectivity issues

This is the same reason I left Sprint and went with t-mobile. I was constantly having connectivity issues when I originally had an m8 I now have an m9 with a tmobile and it works awesome by the way I'm in Chicago.

Re: HTC One m9 Sprint connectivity issues

I am in the DFW area. I have the exact same problems with my M7 on Sprint. My contract is finished this October and I am leaving Sprint. Tired of having to look something up on my friend's phone (On Verizon) because my data doesn't work. Sprint sucks.

Re: HTC One m9 Sprint connectivity issues

Nope, I believe you shot your entire wad. I would put that 'data connection' in power back on and stay close as you can to a wifi Source. they are everywhere. I don't have any of those problems and that's what I do.

Hello everybody,

Can you help to describe the following information briefly? Such as location, stationary or mobility, have enter Home network or not, etc.
I doubt not only M9 or S6 have such situation but also iPhone.
That is very strange...

Re: HTC One m9 Sprint connectivity issues

Same exact problems!

San Diego, both stationary and mobile. I don't know about home network.

My parents got the Galaxy S5 and Galaxy S6. The S5 has the same problems, and I'm not sure about the S6.

there is also a choice you can have in settings, power and at the bottom uncheck "sleep mode". I found it kind of by luck, hope it works. I apologize, I just couldn't get the screen shot up!

My sleep mode has been turned off since I got my phone. The problem is with the Sprint network. Nothing else.

Re: HTC One m9 Sprint connectivity issues

I well spoke too soon. I am having connection issues when the m9 is return to an active session. my optimizer is off, my data connections in the power settings are in the right place. its like the phone is lost for a moment and has to recover. it's annoying but it does come back fairly quickly. this issue seems like the transceiver because it's not the modem!

Good lord, I wish I had seen this before last Thursday! I got the M9, after the salesman talked me out of getting the M8 Harman Kardon (which I really wanted--he was going to even special order it for me!). I took it in today thinking something was wrong with it because it spent more time roaming than anything. That's when I was informed that this is "common" with the M9. It is aggravating as HELL!

At least you're in your 14 day return window.

I'm assuming everybody has updated to the latest sprint software update (which brings 5.1.1) along with connectivity issues fixes/improvements.
I've read that several users have seen improvements with connectivity....

As of this past Sunday I am seeing my phone go to roaming even in my home area. Also my data connection is getting worse. Doing anything with data off of my home wifi causes the no data connection triangle to show up in notifications. Honestly I am so sick of Sprint right now I might just walk away from the rest of my contract. It expires this October. Sprint sucks.
