Can I get some help with some SCL23 issues?

SCL23 issues

Hi there, I recently purchased a SCL23 (which I believe is the Japanese version of the Galaxy S5. I was previously running 4.4.2, and today have 'upgraded' to the 5.0 Lollipop (manual update using Odin). Since doing that, the device no longer recognises my SIM card, and keeps asking me to insert a SIM, despite the fact there is obviously one in there. I am worried that it may be 'bricked' so any advice whatsoever would be hugely appreciated.

Welcome to Android Central! Are you certain you flashed the correct firmware for your exact model? Flashing the wrong firmware can be problematic. Look here: Firmwares - SamMobile

According to this Australian thread on whirlpool.net.au, flashing the stock Android 5.0 update for the carrier au KDDI, mentioned above, re-introduces the service provider lock on the phone...
