Can sprint activate the 32gb nexus 5?

Yup, the trick is just finding an employee willing to listen and not assume you are a "dumb customer".

Yeah, I called several stores and was told in a friendly manner by some and a more hostile manner by others that they don't have any in stock yet. A couple stores said I need a CDMA phone for Sprint... Anyway, I just used the online chat support at sprint.com and they sent me one. It seems the chat support people know what you need and will send one out. You can pay an extra $13 if you want it overnight or else the standard 3-5 day shipping is free.

Hopefully they iron this out with the Nexus 6 or whatever it is called. I wish Google would have had the option to ship the phone with one included. It would have saved a lot of the hassle. Apparently if you have an HTC One or GS4 that sim will work as well but obviously a lot of us don't have those phones. My guess is the next nexus phone will use a nano sim or whatever and we'll get to do this all over again.

If I had the information provided here and the sku I would have approached the situation differently and just gone to the store with the sku instead of calling and trying to get a sales person to understand but unfortunately I didn't know so I ended up having one sent to me.

Just activated my white 32gb Nexus 5. The advice earlier to not enter the last digit of the IMEI was accurate. After I went through the online activation, I had to chat with a service rep to complete, but I'm all set now. Hope this helps.

Awesome news :)

Yes, Sprint will activate a 32GB Nexus 5. The only problem is that it isn't eligible for Total Equipment Protection while the 16GB is.

This is a picture from internal Sprint systems. Sprint officially says only that they will activate Nexus 5 phones bought from Google play. No sizes or other information was given.

The image is accurate, and verified.

Go to the corporate sprint store near you and ask for the sku provided UICC. They will tell you "that sku is for the ipad retinas", but it works. Have one in my phone now.

Go to your sprint.com account and select upgrade to new device. It will ask you for your imei, enter your phones info minus the last digit. It will then ask for your UICC serial code. Enter that. Then it will tell you to click chat at the top right to finish activation. They will ask you for the imei and uicc serial again, and tell you to turn off your current and new phone. They'll activate the data and then turn the phone on and let it go through its auto activation.

voila

note: mine updated its data info and PRL but remained stuck on the "activating mobile data connection screen". Since it got all of its info already, just hit skip and finish setting up your device.

Got my 32gib activated just a few minutes ago. They had to leave off the last digit of the imei# and put a sim from a HTC one. Works perfect. I'll be up all night messing with this thing now

What SIM card is it? I get my phone on friday and want to have the SIM card ready but sprint is telling me they have 2 different type of SIMs. They are giving me the one that goes into the S4. Is that the right card for the nexus 5?

Yes, it'll work. The one used in the HTC One also works.

I have another twist to the plot... I have been provided Sprint business phone service as part of my work. I sure as hell don't know the PIN or the "secret passphrase" that the Prez set up for account authentication. If I try to register on the Sprint Community to PM Blue -- the only guy that seems to know how to activate these -- it tells me my phone number is not valid, and tries to send me to the Business Chat, which puts me in an infinite loop of trying to register, not recognizing the phone number, linking to the Business Chat and not able to register because phone number is not recognized. I've had this number and service as a response from my boss to my business travels without a phone after the 9/11 attacks -- I guess that's 12 years, now.

I stopped by the 7531 France Ave S, Edina, MN Sprint Store, waited 20 minutes, and was with a rep for 20 minutes, but they did not have any SIMs that worked. He gave me the Int'l number and after about 6-8 levels of menus, I got to hold for a rep. The problem was that they couldn't order a SIM without account authentication. They even managed to call my boss, who sent me a text saying he couldn't hear what the rep from Sprint was saying because it was too loud on the rep's side, and wanted to know what was going on. I told him I was trying to order a free SIM for my phone, and not trying to change the account. So 54 minutes on the phone, 3 transfers, and one supervisor from Wisconsin, nothing. Tried the International Chat, feel asleep after 25 minutes of waiting, just in time to see the rep disconnect. Another 30 minutes waiting, and then they cancelled my chat because it was closing time.

Any thoughts?

Thanks.
Drew
