cannot root 4g evo

I just rooted mine yesterday with Revolutionary. The beta key is case sensitive. Do you have HTC Sync installed on your pc?

I tried it with it on and off the pc. I wrote the code down the exact way it showed on my pc but when I enter it it says invalid and closes. I can't believe this wont root still

The guide I followed said to make sure HTC sync is uninstalled. Since it said to install the drivers give in guide, I uninstalled the ones I had and installed those. I'm trying to find the guide.

i keep getting a error when I go to launch revolution program saying
adbwinapi.dll is missing

I cannot get the htc driver to install, i download it but whenever i double click it to open it up i get nothing at all

Yeah I disabled fastboot, enabled usb debugging. I cannot getvthat htc file to install at all. I downloaded it 3 times and nothing. Revolution was working before it just didn't accept my beta key now it wont recognize my device.

Im ready to pull my hair out. Ill try it later tonight in a couple hours im getting a headache from this

Right click the drivers and run as admins.

Let me try...did you EXTRACT the drivers before INSTALLING them? If yes, I have no idea.

Alright I can relate to this, this same thing happened with my friends phone with revolutionary. I did mine with no problem and his i had problems with. The revolutionary window wouldn't find his phone at all i just left it plugged in he was playing with the things that could block it (such as checking the box to let non market apps download to your phone) he turned Bluetooth on at one point, let it sit, took it off and turned it back on and somehow it got recognized.

I don't know if it was the Bluetooth or that it had been sitting at that screen for a while, but just connect the phone and look over things that could be blocking the phone from being recognized. You can switch something on in the meantime or Revolutionary will just run the way its supposed to but with a little extra time.

Sorry if it doesn't help but it did for my friend so I thought i would give it a shot.

If you get an installation screen the first time and you didn't uninstall, it double clicking the program again wont do anything because the driver is already installed so the link or icon thing your clicking wont do anything after the htc driver has been installed

Im bout to mess with it some more, I got alot of other stuff to do still, I need to finish this evo tonight.

The driver is htc 3.0.0.007 its a exe file, after it downloads I go to open it and nothing at all. Well ill try it again now and see what happens

Did you uninstall HTC sync already if not try it. Worked for me. Sorry if it was already asked

I don't have htc sync on my pc at all, the damn program worked earlier but wouldn't accept my beta key now it wont work at all
