If I try to use unrevoked it recognizes the device fine, this is so frustrating

Check if the driver installed on your pc.... control panel/uninstall program. It will show up in there. Also what version is your hboot? Do a battery pull...press volume down and then power button. There will be a number at the top. What is it?

Its done now, had to cmd prompt the whole thing, when I get back to the pc ill link the way I did it. It used revolutionary and went right thru. So much time wasted on this and it finished in under 5 minutes from the time I opened the cmd window

Its not my phone but a friends, I use a DROID x. Yeah its rooted, clockwork installed, and a full back up on it already. I've been busy tonight, currently installing linux on a laptop that was in bad shape.

I didnt forget about you guys, im on my phone now but when im all done with this laptop ill get on my pc and post a link to where I got the info to do the evo.

It literally worked the first try and was really fast too, im sure it can help other aswell
