Can't assign tones to contacts anymore

Just what the title says. Why can't I assign text tones anymore? Wtf??!! I'm on att and just updated. What is going on!!??

Well, after almost having a meltdown I see that I can just assign individual tones via chomp messenger which is what I use as a text app anyway.
And if I can just do it that simply, why have taken it out to begin with? Numb skulls..

Well I thought it was just me.. but guess not.. As much as I hate it.. I've move to Messenger+ Verizon app. it still allows you to choose custom message tones.. Why in the hell Google/Android would feel the need to remove this option is beyond me. Its like the sit in a room and figure out ways to **** off the user.

Guess we see when I get the update if it's a carrier move. I'm unlocked so hoping it's just their way of making you use their msg app.
