Can't Get Google Wallet Working...

My version installed fine (rooted) and i even topped up another $20 but wouldn't work at checkout. I ended up having to open Wallet and eneter my PIN. This caused it to recognize the reader at CVS but it FCd before the payment went through. Had to pay for my Dr. Pepper with my credit card just like the unwashed masses do.

Okay. In the video I watched it said I didn't have to open the app up before putting it against the receiver. But I guess I should try that next time.

I know on my phone when I try to do it without opening the app it fc's and the transaction doesn't go through. But if I open the wallet app, enter my pin and then try it, the application will fc, but I continue to hold it by the terminal the extra few seconds until the transaction goes through.

I guess wallet just handles the "handshake " between the nfc chip and the pos

Definitely some issues with Google Wallet right now as another poster stated. I've gotten mine to work but it fc's right after payment, but it does go through... I remember seeing a post on xda about someone transferring his wallet account from the Nexus S to the Galaxy Nexus and there were some extra steps needed.

Bottom line you won't be able to get it on w/o rooting.

are u guys with fc issues on the apk or the zip? Rooted or not? Im unrooted and on the apk and mine works flawlessly. No fc's, no issues....takes about ten seconds for a transaction....then comes the looks confusion from store clerks.

Funny.....my wife just went and tried to use hers and it says it sent but the transaction is stuck in processing and never went through......weird. ive used it 3 times now without issue.

I called the Google Wallet support line to ask how to transfer my old Google debit from my old phone to my new GN.

The support guy said he didn't know why it wouldn't have linked my old card, but they're going to look into it.

He claims it's the first instance reported to them with the scenario I have (official market install of Wallet). He said that they are aware of people using workarounds, and officially the phone isn't supported. However, because I didn't jump through any non-sanctioned hoops to get to where I am, they are going to support me.

So, while doing my routine grocery shopping today I decided to pull out GW for a $60+ purchase just to test it out and also see what happens if I didn't have enough money.

1) I opened the app and entered my pin and touched to the receiver, and it accepted it right away. I'm a bit disappointed it didn't ask me to confirm, because I probably would have said no.
2) It sent the $10, and then it prompted me to pay the remaining $50. It shocked the girl working the register a bit when I paid with my phone. She kept asking what kind of phone it was and saying she had never heard of it before.

Good to hear that. I haven't used it on my GN yet, but it was instantaneous on my Nexus S 4G. All the reports of 5-10 seconds made me wonder, so thanks for stating it's working fast for you.

Mine was instantaneous as well. Although I already had the app opened, which may have had something to do with it.

Mine works just fine and I'm not rooted. Try deleting them re-downloading.

The first place i went to last night took awhile but eventually went through. Today it would not work at all at that scheetz store. I have been all over lancaster and york pa today shopping and it has worked instantly everywhere else and ive used it like ten times. I believe its a problem with them not me. The biggest issue i have had is that at some stores they have to choose credit at their register before i use it. Most of those stores have never seen anybody actually use their pay pass terminal, so they did not know this and neither did I. Oh well were all learning......the looks on peoples faces is worth using this app alone. I cant wait till this is useable everywhere.

Ok, I just read the confirmation email from goole and apparently you can use it anywhere that accepts MasterCard pay-pass, and there is a master card pay-pass locator app in the market.

I have no idea why but when I hold my GN to a paypass it does nothing at all. I stand there looking like some idiot trying to pay with my phone and most of the people have never seen anyone do that before so they really think im an idiot.
I have the app set up. I am rooted. I have the card setup and have even added more money to it than the $10 they gave me.
I unlocked the screen and held it there, even tapped it a few times but nothing happens. NFC is turned on as well.
Any Ideas???

I'm having some issues getting it to work. First place I tried it was at Best Buy. I held the phone against the terminal and entered my pin. After a second or so it said Sent. I kept it there and then a message came up saying Reader detected, last tap may have been unsuccessful, ask cashier if transaction is complete. It wasn't.

I then tried it at a CVS. Tapped it to the terminal and it worked instantly.

Tried at another Best Buy. Same thing as the first. It says sent, then hangs, then makes a weird noise and gives me that same message.

Tried it at a Macy's and it did the same thing as the two Best Buys.

Tried it today at a Chevron and it did the same thing as Best Buy and Macy's.

That makes one successful attempt. Am I doing something wrong? Or is it on their end? The second time at Best Buy I had him select credit but it still wouldn't go. I loaded fifty bucks onto it so I could use it a few times, but so far I've just looked like a total ****** trying to be cool with his magical phone that doesn't actually do anything.

Get the paypass locator app from the market...it will show in maps every paypass joint near you. I have used wallett extensively since the night the .apk hit xda. Probably have close to a hundred transactions.....i have only found one place it does not work and gives a reader detected error.....and that scheetz store just simply does not work. Everywhere else....cvs, new york and company, local convenience store, hess station, sheetz, mcdonalds, wendys...etc...etc... has worked instantly.
