Can't set up google account: Unfortunately Google Play services has stopped.

Hi here is the version that i downloaded and is working

10.0.84 (238-137749526)

I have a note 3 in canada model sm-900w8 running android 5.0

You can download it here:

Google Play services 10.0.84 (238-137749526) APK Download by Google Inc. - APKMirror

Can you tell me which version of Google play market do you use? Because I've spent countless hours trying every solution described in the topic but nothing helps. I figured out that I can fix the problem with installing the last update of Google play services but after that Google play market crashes :D and I can't open it at all. So if I fix Google play services, Google play market crashes.... I hope that Google will fix the problem because I can't deal with my phone anymore. It's just a waste of time and effort.

I have an unlocked AT&T Galaxy Note 3 that I just bought yesterday. I was furious to find out that I had been scammed because the phone wouldn't work with google play services. I went ahead and looked at my phones google play services last 3 digits which was 438 and headed over to apk mirror to find that the newest version of Google play services that corresponded to version 438 was only compatible with android 6.0 so I backtracked to the nearest compatible version, one with ARM chipset, Android 5.0 and 480dpi which turned out to be version 238. I downloaded the apk from the internet, allowed installations from unknown resources and installed it. Closed every app I had opened. Opened up the play store. Signed in. And wallaaahh! I'm in there like swimwear! Here's the link hit the download apk it's about 47mb and it worked on my note 3.

I had the same problem with my galaxy s4 after a factory reset. This version helped me: 10.0.84 (238-137749526)

U have to go to apk mirror and download the version of Google play services that corresponds to the phone you have and the android version. It's not hard to figure out just go to settings>applications>all>google play services and look at the numbers next to the version in parentheses. Itll look something like xxx-xxxxxxxxx the first 3 x's before the - is your compatible version. Now head over to apk mirror and download the update with the same compatible version numbers. Allow unknown resources when prompted and install using package installer (it's already on your phone trust me) and your good to go. If it doesn't work it's because google ****ed up, that's what happened with my note 3 the version that corresponded to mine will never work because it's for android 6.0 and note 3 never got the 6.0 update so that's when u need to back track and find the latest version that best matches the version u already have. Hope that helps guys.

Sure. I have version 7.3.07.K-all [0] [PR] 139935798

I vaguely remember having the same problem because before i manually downloaded the google play services i had tried manually updating the playstore app. Once i downloaded the correct google play services for my phone, the playstore app crashed like you mentioned. I went into settings > application manager > google playstore and tapped 'uninstall updates' after that it worked.

Your phone is supposed to do this all automatically but google really screwed something up. Good luck!

The part in the version that matters is the -436 part. Those 3 numbers describe your hardware and software. To figure out which version you need, you to follow the link i posted on page one. It'll tell you what those numbers mean. In my case for my note 3 mines ended in 438 for my note 3 when it should be 238.

From that link:

The first number is your Android version:

0 = Android 4.4.4 and older

2 = Android 5.0 and 5.1 (starting with Google Play Services v8)

4 = Android 6.0 and above (Note:*4 = Android 5.0 and 5.1 for versions of*Google Play Services prior to v8)

7 =*Android 5.0

8 =*Android TV

The second number is your CPU architecture:

1 = armeabi

3 = armeabi-v7a

4 = arm64-v8a

7 = x86

The third number is your device screen's DPI (dots per inch):

0 = universal

2 = 160 dpi

4 = 240 dpi

6 = 320 dpi

8 = 480 dpi

I actually have lollipop 5.0.2 what do you think I should do? I dot know if it's of any help, but the tab is a unlocked tmobile

Thanks, Xdamien Vii! I followed the same exact process you did with my Moto X 2nd gen and it worked perfectly! Thank you!

Google Play services APKs - APKMirror

This solution worked but the version of Google Play Services that was installed on my Moto G after factory reset was incorrect so I couldn't depend on that 3 digit code. Instead I had to find out which OS version I was running and find a version of Google Play Services that corresponded to my OS. Hope that makes sense. In any case it worked. Thanks for the tip.

Hi! Could anyone tell me which version of Google Play I should download? I'm using a Samsung Galaxy E5 with Android version 5.0.2. My current Google Play services is version 6.7.77 (1747363-436). I'm not the most tech savvy when it comes to smart phones (this is my first Samsung Galaxy after using simpler LG phones), so the easier the instructions, the better (ie - I have no freaking clue what any of this means in the app notes: Google Play services APKs - APKMirror).

Thanks!

EDIT: Huh, Google Play seems to be working fine on it's own now. Disregard my post~

I must be missing something...
After following the instructions ( and links ) suggested here by people that were successful, I am still out of luck. I have a 430 download needed, and have found several. However, aall of the downloads that I have tried all say that they are for "android wear". I have a phone, not a "wear". Am I looking at the wrong download section? Thanks.

EDIT: I got it. I ignored the fact that it said "Wear" and just installed the newest version of services. I also noticed that someone above mentioned that they had the wrong version installed so instead of following the "430" download I just matched my OS, Processor and my DPI. It worked. This thread was a lifesaver. Thanks all!

THANK YOU. I had the same problem with the version of Google play store. You saved my stupid phone. Everything seems to be normal now!

I am having this issue with a Galaxy Tab 4. It spontaneously rebooted and locked upon the splash screen after I reinstalled an app, so I felt I had no recourse but to do a factory reset. Now I am stuck on the setup "Sign In" screen with the "Google Play Services Has Stopped" popping up occasionally during this process. I also get "process com.google.process.gapps" has stopped.

That I know of, I can't access the settings from here to determine which version of Google Play Services I might have. My tablet just says "Signing In ... this can take a few minutes," which means it will take a few hours and it is just stuck.

I have rebooted a few times and I've reset a few times as well with the same result. I've backed out of the sign in, input my credentials again, but same thing.

I know the tablet shipped with KitKat, but I also saw it was trying to install some form up system update as it was getting stuck on this sign in screen. I just reset my hubby's tablet due to a different issue last night and it only took a few seconds to go through this step, so I know this is not ordinary.

Any help? Anything I can do from the hard reset menu?

I had not been having any Play Services issues / other pop-ups before this app stopped responding and I uninstalled it then the freezeup.

Thanks.
