Cases and screen protectors?

1. It's a Chinese company that makes it, I forget the company name, but remember, everything is essentially made in China nowadays.
2. I don't have a scientific answer but my current phone Bold 9900 has the brushed aluminum casing (not an extra case, but thats how it comes) and I don't think theres ever been issues.
3. It has no give, (so it seems), however if its snug on the phone then it should protect it no?.. I would think it would protect it from nicks and scrapes if it falls and hopefully stop it from cracking the screen. If it isn't some sort of rubber, then it will have the same impact if it was plastic or something different.

Found some reviews of the iPhone 4s version on Amazon, and as I feared, each of them states that it kills reception. Obviously, this depends a lot on antenna placement, and may not affect the S3 at all, but unfortunately, I am going to steer clear of the case and looks for something else. It's a shame too, because it's gorgeous.

Maybe I will come back to it after a couple months to see if there are any reviews on the S3 version

I always loved my TPU cases but on my GNex, the case constantly turns the volume button up or down. I think the problem is that there is no cutout for the buttons, my volume buttons move easily up or down with barely a touch AND most TPU cases are not different for the Verizon version vs the GSM versions. So, since the CDMA phones are slightly thicker, the case is tighter, hence pressing the volume button.

I have the Diztronic one, which I just realized came out with a Version 3 for GNex, where the buttons ARE cut out. I wish I had that version. ARGH. I don't see one available for the S3 yet though.

I am looking for a "skin" that is thin and lightweight and has volume and other button cutouts too. Any suggestions?

Katherine

I've been talking about these the last couple days, letting you guys know how good they are and low and behold they have a ridiculous sale going on now. Not sure how long this will last so get them while you can.

Here's the deal, add 3 items to your cart, enter code "big75", without the quotation marks, during checkout and get 75% off your total. Here's the order I just placed....2 full body protectors and another screen protector, grand total $6.25!!!

this is the one i was asking about in my earlier post:

Genuine Samsung Galaxy S3 Flip Cover - Chrome Blue - EFC-1G6FBECSTD

anyone getting this? i think i might get it once it becomes available in the US

Seems to me the flip case would be somewhat awkward when taking pictures. Also, surprisingly it has no cut-out for the notification LED. Not for me.

Any sleeves/pouches like the pre had?

Looking for something like this:
SD Leather Style Pouch Case for Samsung Galaxy S3 - Black

I ordered, and received, this. Looks quality made. Don't have my S3 yet though to put in it:

SPIGEN SGP Leather Pouch Crumena for Samsung Galaxy SIII

So just a warning to anyone getting screen protectors. The hard plastic ones, like the Spigen SGP Steinheil Ultra Crystal/Fine/Oleophobic/Optics are going to be smaller then the actual glass due to the curved screen corners. However, if you get a flexible one, like the Spigen SGP Steinheil Ultra Flex HD, it will cover the whole screen as it can conform to the curves of the glass.

Here is a comparison chart directly from Spigen comparing their different protectors for the S3. In the "Coverage" description is where it warns of this.

I would also assume that this is true for other hard plastic screen protectors.

I hope its not that small since I already pulled the trigger in the ultra crystal! Besides, the flex HD one is soft (rubbery) like the Zagg one so I'll stick with this one!

Ok, go ahead and call me old school, has anyone found cases that you can wear or clip on to a belt that will work for this phone? I have found some universal ones but I'm not sure they will fit the phone. I'm not interested in the case/holster combo for sale on verizon's site, I personally don't care for those. Any help will be appreciated.

Seidio also makes a holster that can be used without a case.

I wonder if any studies have been conducted on the potential health risks having a cell phone in the pocket verses at the hip. I know years ago the countries state troopers had a large number of reports of prostate cancer. Some study claimed these occurrences we due to officers keeping radar detectors on their laps for speed trap surveillance while sit tng in their cars for a few hours during shifts . I would also think that your phone in your pocket could pose a similar risk that being your cell phone is closer in proximity. It's my thinking that some cases provide a shield like protection versus not using a case at all. Just saying....:rolleyes:

Either place you will still have thur signal going through you anyway.

I am interested in this kind of case also. Will be following to see if anything shows up. A swivel clip on the case would be nice.

Looking around for cases, found this one:

Looks very slick, and I want to be able to see the back of the blue color. Unfortunately, I don't think it's released yet but hopefully it'll be out before the phone ships.

Looking forward to what Seidio comes up with. Their cases have saved my Incredible many times. I just hope they make an all white case that matches the phone color.

Otterbox is to boxy/clunky for my taste. I prefer Seidio for their balance of protection and STYLE!

+1. It looks like Seidio is making the surface and the active combos for the SGSIII! I ordered a CIMO TPU case from Amazon for like 8 buck. I ordered one for my Galaxy Note before Seidio had their cases ready and it is excellent for 8 bucks!

I think I'm going to get the flip case for when I want to go without a case.

The bad thing about not having a case is the risk of dropping it and getting damaged. I've been thinking about just getting a pouch and carrying it that way BUT when its in your hands, it has the potential to magically slip out of your hands and fall. I know a case would make it bulkier but it serves its purpose to protect your phone! I baby my phones as is but a case gives me peace of mind for accidents!
