Cases and screen protectors?

OtterBox is the best, but I really wish it wasn't available in just black.

They have plenty of colors coming out for it.

Cheap TPU's always work. Reliable, cheap, easy, The Works... BUT I'm jw if we have any info/rumors about the sizes of the US variants. Specifically VZW.... Because I also LOVe the Samsung Flip Case, but with my luck, the international one doesn't fit properly or wateva....

I ordered the atomic (green blue) defender case for the S3 from amazon from the OtterBox Seller. It said that delivery would take a while (2-4) weeks though.

This is exactly what Im looking for, but I have a couple questions... so I may by a cheap one and wait for a couple reviews or something.

1. Its from Hong Kong... so its a knock off of something, and could have some issues... (color rubbng off on phone, case breaking, etc)
2. Being aluminum, will this affect signal strength at all?
3. Will this be too stiff on a fall? I mean... if it has absolutely no give what so ever, what is the difference between landing on a hard floor, or landing on a hard floor with aluminum surrounding the phone?

What do you think? unfortunately, this is an area where apple succeeds. They have some great 1st and 3rd party cases.

1. It's a Chinese company that makes it, I forget the company name, but remember, everything is essentially made in China nowadays.
2. I don't have a scientific answer but my current phone Bold 9900 has the brushed aluminum casing (not an extra case, but thats how it comes) and I don't think theres ever been issues.
3. It has no give, (so it seems), however if its snug on the phone then it should protect it no?.. I would think it would protect it from nicks and scrapes if it falls and hopefully stop it from cracking the screen. If it isn't some sort of rubber, then it will have the same impact if it was plastic or something different.

Do you know what stores carry otterbox cases? I have never had one and I want to see how they look in person before I buy it.

I've seen them in Radio Shack, Best Buy and even WalMart.

I'll very likely just go with a cheap TPU case. I've had one on my Fascinate since I've had it and it works exactly the way I need it to. Small, easy to put on/take off, cheap, and has saved my phone from drops. Can't ask for much more.

SGP screen protector whenever they're released, probably a Case Mate Pop or Barely There.
Might run it naked though, no case. You either need a hugely bulky case to provide drop protection, or don't bother. And scratches won't matter because you can just replace the backplate if it bothers you.

IMO... the thinnest and most protective case i have come across is the rubber case (actually a resin) that vzw offers. I have ised this type of case on my dinc for 2 years and the phone looks brand new. This case hase saved my phone from multiple drops. The case is cut to provide 360 protection around the outside. and a thin lip the sticks out around the screen to protect from face drops.

This case is not fancy or special to look at but the material its made of and the cut of the case protects the phone perfectly for such a thin case.

i have seen this type of case in action on a dinc, nexus and iphone all dropped infront of me.
