Cases, cases and more cases!!

I ordered the Official Samsung clear fit case from samsung. They had a promo here where if you bought an accessory you got 10% off the phone.

There's a compatibility list? I'll be totally honest, that's not the kind of thing I really care about lol. If I fits I sits. The round grip fits my Pixel 6, Flip 4 and most of my S21 Ultra cases perfectly. The flat one is what I use mostly on my S21U because it's in a mous case which is incredibly thick.

I'm with you on this! The closest they have is the clear one with "sparkles".

I had a cute symmetry for my 7 edge I think I mentioned commuter which I've also had in the past but it's symmetry I like now. I've had tech 21 EVO case before also. I had a casemate once it made the phone to big and bulky but now I use pop sockets. I guess I'll do the i-blason one someone posted above with the flowers if not the same purple marble one. My phone still says in process and I have the cancel button still so I have a couple days to decide. Their is a cute symmetry in green which I wish they made to match the Lavender phone. I really have been wanting to try Velvet Caviar but I know I like my i-blason now so I am afraid to try that one but they have cute ones usually but none yet for the 23. I had a Kate Spade Ombre with teal purple and it was cute for my 21U. I may look into it again.

This arrived today. Paid for by Samsung points. Unfortunately can't post picture but it's an official Clear case.

Seeing more and more "MagSafe" style cases popping up for the S23 devices. Anyone ever use anything like these, outside of iPhone? How well do they work on Samsung/Android devices? I might have to consider one.

I found this list of MagSafe cases compatible with the S23 versions. I'm kind of intrigued by the carved one..https://www.reddit.com/r/Android/comments/10ve7rp/complete_list_of_samsung_galaxy_s23_ultra_cases/

I remember buying the carved cases all the time. Very addicting to change style all the time. I don't understand the one of a kind, when it's sold is fine concept in the S23 and days pre order starts in March. How can they be one of a kind on pre order showing designs already?

Was the protection good on them?

Nice list.

I am tempted by a MagSafe case. I was hoping the S23 series would surprise us with QI2 compatibility... but I suppose it's pretty much moot with one of those cases.

Which one though...

Can't believe some of them aren't compatible with the S-Pen... so much instant fail.

Anyone order a new S23 Ultra case from Tech 21 that hasn't been shipped out yet? Ordered one on the 1st and it still hasn't been shipped out. Am wondering if they didn't have the new cases in inventory before listing them on their site. Also wonder if because they are based out of the UK (even though it appears they have an office in New York), that it may be affecting the new cases being sent out.

I just got my free cases from CaseBorne and the one I bought (Unicorn Beetle) and once I get my phone, I will be sure to provide an update and review. :D

This year's CaseBorne units look really well put together.
How similar in design and look is it to the Beetle?

Completely agree on Caseborne being a good brand. Karl, the owner is a great dude and he makes some really high quality cases!

I'd like to know if the S pen functionality is affected by the carved cases with the MagSafe option.

On initial inspection, and please note that I have not installed/used on a phone yet, I can tell you there are a few differences...

I'll post Pics for items I feel need them to help with comparison (will add (pic) to the line item)

CaseBorne:

1. It is a 2-part case. Inner plastic "ring" that goes around the device, then you install into the rugged outer rubberized case.
2. The feel of the case is actually pretty nice. It's nice to hold and adds some bulk (which rugged cases tend to do), but is not so big that it's uncomfortable. Please keep in mind that I am also 6'5" tall and have big hands (I can palm a Basketball with ease), so the size may not fit as well for everyone as it does me. :)
3. The Kickstand is secure when closed. To lock it open, you have to take an extra action of puling the back support arm down to lock it, which means you have to push up a little to unlock to close the kickstand. (pic) - https://imgur.com/J5ZlxHl
4. Kickstand does not feel too flimsy and seem like it will last.
5. When closed, the kickstand does not stick out in any way, so pretty flush with the case.
6. All kickstand pivot points are hinged, so no folding plastic to wear off and break.
7. If you look in the picture, the Orange backing is foam, so added protection there (previous post of mine).
8. The USB-C charging port has a cover which protects the port, which is great as I almost NEVER use the port and charge wirelessly.
9. Case back is raised on the edges to keep from teetering when laid down, this also protects the cameras

Unicorn Beetle:

1. Single piece case with rubberized sides.
2. Same as above
3. Kickstand on this case is more useful other than as a kickstand as it folds in the middle and can be used as an additional grip by sliding your finger in the kickstand opening to hold the phone. (pic) - https://imgur.com/iLzLfhu
3. Kickstand is secure when closed. Easy open, close.
4. Middle Hinge allows for sturdier overall feel of the kickstand.
5. Easy to close with one hand when done with it (if using as a grip).
6. When closed, the kickstand does not stick out in any way, so pretty flush with the case.
7. USB-C port is open with no cover.
8. Case back has "feet" on the corners to level the phone when it is set down, these are pretty small and don't impact using/holding the phone.

Overall, I like BOTH cases, so you can't go wrong either way, but I will try them BOTH for a few days, but after initial inspection of both cases, I am leaning to the CaseBorne case for the added protection it gives as well as the USB Port being covered.

The ONLY thing that would make me want to use the Unicorn Beetle case is the kickstand. I like how I can use the kickstand with my finger to add something extra to help hold the phone, but, I will admit, I would probably VERY RARELY use it like this as my fingers are a little big as well (pic) - https://imgur.com/LQeBQWw

Of course, I am saying all of this BEFORE I even have a phone to put in the cases to see how they feel once they are on the phone. I will update as I get my phone (looks like TOMORROW), and let everyone know what I find after.

Oh, yes, that IS a Tardis on my wedding ring. Wife has a matching ring... :D

Are there any cases like these that don't have the kickstand? I never watch videos while putting my phone on a table.

Honestly, the Kickstand is so out of the way, if you don't want to use it, then don't. There is no NEED to use them. I am betting that I will almost never use the kickstand, but on those rare occasion that I do, it'll be nice to have.

They really are totally out of the way.

Does the kickstand add much to the weight?
