Cases for the Nexus 6P

The Speck case feels great on the phone. Plenty of grip with a slim profile. But wow, this phone is heavy, lol.

So my Speck Candyshell arrived today and my verdict is thumbs up.
It doesn't feel heavier or bulkier than my supcase hybrid even though it technically is. The gripability is much better since it has the soft rubber feel. The buttons have the soft rubber which is grippy. The buttons are considerably raised, have a slight click sound so you can tell each and every press as you adjust the volume. My Supcase buttons were very hard plastic feeling and almost flush which made it harder to distinguish between the case and the buttons as the whole side of the case is rigid plastic. Technically the side of the supcase is TPU but to me it's more like rigid plastic. All that made it harder to distinguish each press when pressing the volume buttons.
Since the soft rubber is on the back of the Speck, one handed operation is much better with the Speck. You can use your 3 middle most fingers on the back, pinky to support the bottom with ease and confidence of not dropping the phone, while typing with your thumb.
The biggest drawback is my Nexus logo and Aluminium is hidden.

How difficult is the Speck case to remove? I feel like it will offer protection from the phone bending but I have heard it can be very difficult to remove which might actually result in bending when taking it off. lol.

I will never buy/use this case because if this...it takes a good amount of pressure w this case.

It's not hard once you get used to it. With the phone in both hands, you hold the top corners of the phone between your thumb and index finger, apply pressure and slowly slide the case off, starting from the right corner, then the left. After the case is off the corners, you lift it out from the bottom.

It is difficult, I normally take the top corners off First. Just don't hold the top (right) corner and bottom opposite ( left) corner and bend as that will be the most likely tweek the phone. Also a few times I just have to deal with the case turning the phone off or close to powering down since the case presses on the button as it is coming off.

My Ringke came in yesterday and I'm torn. I prefer the more snug fit of the official Google case but the screenshot issue in comparison to the Ringke is an area of consideration. The Ringke appears more grippy as well

I have the Spigen rugged one as well, in black. Love it; very sleek looking without feeling slick in the hands.

I've been using the thin fit case for nexus 6P from Spigen for weeks now and I actually like it. Very comfy to hold. I also bought the Spigen screen protector and it easily scratched when I put the phone in my pocket. I'm waiting for Zagg invisible shield to make a screen protector for the Nexus 6P.

I wish the spigen thin fit was made like the rugged covering the whole back and a little more of the top and bottom bezels

was it the TGSP from Spigen? did u contact them? it's definitely not supposed to scratch ... I have the Nexus microfiber case with the Spigen TGSP and it's been perfect. also grabbed the Spigen case as a backup.

I haven't contacted them yet. The screen protector scratched within 3 days of use lol. Very disappointed to be honest. I'll contact them soon to find out what's going on.

Upon further review, I like the Ringke Fusion way more than the official Google case! No question. Gonna order the Spigen Ultra Hybrid and that'll round out my case orders.

Just wanted to add to the conversation. I got the Spigen Ultra Hybrid (Clear) and Spigen Rugged Armor (Black). I must admit, I am very happy with both cases. I think I like the Ultra Hybrid better just because it shows of the phone more. Both cases have good button feel and I'd imagine offer the same amount of protection.

I was skeptical at first because I was worried about the part around the visor being flimsy but after seeing a review on YouTube yesterday stating that it was really solid I believe I'll take the plunge. I just hope it works with my Ringke screen protectors and doesn't push them up

FWIW I'm using a Yoozon tempered glass screen protector and it doesn't get in the way.

That's good to know. Actually thought about ordering a TGSP but haven't pulled the trigger. I see they have pretty high ratings on Amazon.

I gotta give Yoozon credit. I received my TGSP on Saturday and after I put it on I noticed that the top left corner didn't lay flat on the screen (probably my fault) so I contacted them by email and they got back to me within a few hours....ON A SATURDAY...telling me that they had shipped me a replacement. Now that is the way you treat your customers. Needless to say, I was very impressed.
