Cases for the Verizon G2

Waiting patiently for the incipio feather case in black. VZW is selling the gray and navy blue, but since my phone is black, I want the black cover. Hope they release it soon.

I'm with you. I really don't understand what people do to their phones to justify these giant cases. I carried the GS3 naked for over a year and didn't drop it once, and that phone has just as slippery of a back as the G2. Maybe I would want a case if I knew I dropped it regularly, as others seem to do?

What don't you understand?some people don't have cushy office jobs where the phone just sits on a desk all day.I'm a plumber,my phone won't last 2 week's without a decent case

Don't you just secure it in the plumbers crack, should be safe there? Sorry could not resist.... I hate cases but your right at work it gets a little rough sometimes and I need to use a case, most of the time on my days off it is out of the case .

What is there to understand, that there are people with different requirements than you? Heaven forbid!

This is where I play most days.

Ok, Ok, we will make an exception for those with in industrial or other dangerous jobs, but that said there maybe is a more durable phone to begin with for that purpose? Personally, I'd rather take the chance of having to replace the phone than to entomb it with one of those bricks.

But why would you care in the least that others want or require to enclose their phone in a brick. l prefer a minimal case but others like the security of an otter box or similar case. That's why they are made. They want the features of a G2 but are not shallow enough believe the appearance of their phone reflects on them.

I don't care if they like it, my comment is my opinion for what I think in regards to what I would carry.

I like ultra thin cases. I just received the Incipio Feather case. I was surprised to see that this isn't ultra thin by any means and I'll probably just return it wand wait for something else. This phone is thicker than I would like already and the idea of adding even a mildly thick hard piece of plastic to me is a turn off.

Has anyone tried their cases on a wireless charging pad? I bought a cheapo case when I first got the phone (ebay generic special) which serves my needs at the moment but the back of the case is to thick for it to charge through.

Personally, if I worked as a plumber, crane operator, etc, I would definitely not carry my $600 retail price smartphone with me. I would have a flip phone for work purposes, and leave my smartphone and/or 4g tablet in the car. I give you guys props for having the confidence to carry yours into these "rough" job situations, even with a sarcophagus surrounding it. I get jumpy when my G2 scrapes 1/4 inch across my desk when I set it down gently. I've seen smartphones of family members who work construction, and man, I could never handle the nasty encrusted screen covers and dirt accumulation in every crevice that comes with the territory. I guess I'm a bit too much of a clean freak/technology snob.

The voice of reason!

Just a heads up if it hasn't been posted, the Incipio feather case is available at the Verizon stores now...at least mine. They showed me three colors, gray, purple and one other that slips my mind. I went with the gray and it fits beautifully and is really exactly what I was looking for. It's light, it's a matte finish so no fingerprints and it adds virtually no bulk to the phone at all. It's actually thinner and certainly more attractive than the jelly case from Verizon.

Thanks, Ken for the mini-review. I went and got it as I am waiting for my G2 to come in. Does the back button cut out help with finding the rear +/- power buttons since you can feel the hole mentally and easier to find with the volume down button? I hope this makes sense as this is another reason to put this case on besides the looks and protection.

I have the silly thick Verizon jelly case on mine, and just got the LG charging disc and it worked just fine. It connected immediately when I placed the phone on the disc. Charged it that way all night, so not sure how long it took, but I'll need a good long charge tonight and will try to keep in eye on charging time.

I have that case and tried it last night also and it works. It also works with the smart window case.

Incipio web site now has the Verizon Feather cases available for order in most colors.

Funny you said that, but it actually does it make it easier finding the buttons.

That'd be an extreme waste of a phone then. I spend 2/3 of my waking hours at work, I'm not about to give up my smartphone for that amount of time. Also, my phone is part of my job and I get paid to keep it within arms reach at ALL times. I keep a spare smartphone in my truck in case my primary becomes incapacitated so that I can switch it on and carry on with my business. Also, how would I keep up with theChive w/o it? ;-)

Ya know, best part about these HD cases is that after the day is done, I can take it off, wipe down the phone, and it looks as new as the day I bought it. When I sell my old phones after upgrading, I almost always get top dollar for them because they are in near mint condition.

So, I had emailed Otterbox a while back, and this is their reply about the currently available Commuter case fitment and their future plans. The capitalization emphasis in the reply is theirs, this is a direct copy/paste.

Also, I and a few others had asked similar questions on the G2 Commuter product page, for a total of six questions asked with zero answers, and as of now, all the questions have been removed, and still no details added. How hard is it to just post the answer to the product page instead of answering every individual inquiry?

Thank you for contacting us at OtterBox. The Commuter Series case for the LG G2 is NOT compatible with the Verizon version of the device, but IS compatible with all other carriers. We will be making a Defender Series case only for the Verizon LG G2, but it has not launched yet. We’ll get the tech specs updated on the website so that this is clearer for our customers. Thank you for your patience as we work to provide you with a first class product!

Please feel free to contact customer service with any additional questions (https://forums.androidcentral.com/e...erbox.com%2Fen-us%2Fcontact-us&token=YYQg0NXE).
