Cases

Thanks for the update with photos. Looks the same as my ipad mini case, ah, except with an bigger i-blason logo on the front case....

Yes, it's a decent-sized logo.
Compared to my Moko case for the original N7, the spine is harder, should soften up over time I hope.

My iBlaison should be waiting for me on my doorstep. Based on the pics above, it looks to be just what I was hoping for. And for $6, it'd be hard to complain if it wasn't...

I think what bothers me the most about the i-Blason case is the placement of the stylus holder. Placing it in pen-tip downward makes the stylus go past the case and placing it in the opposite direction blocks the flap that closes the case. Not a tremendous dealbreaker, just a minor annoyance for me.

Think my case is finally coming this week taking a little longer than expected. As long as it's here before I leave for college I'll be happy :) I ordered the i-Blason case

The amazing galaxy s3 :D

Are you like me, received an notice from Amazon that your order has shipped, but when you track it on usps website there has been no update for the package for several days until the last 3 days of the expected arrival date? This what happened to be on the 5th and today is the 8th and its still not shipping, expected arrival is on the 12th. Can't understand what the hold up for the longest shipping time ever (fyi paid 4.95 shping, not super saver).

edit update: my order finally handled over to usps this afternoon on the 9th. Will deliver on the 12th. Order placed on the 1st, need wait till the 12th to receive. Very poor/slow service.

iBlaison came. I'm actually very impressed with quality. Minor chemical smell but no big deal. Feels pretty well put together even compared to expensive cases. We'll see how holds up, but I don't anticipate giving it a lot of abuse, so I hope it lasts a while.

I don't like the I blaison. Don't like the concept to take off half of the case to make it stand. And it's a bit bulky. Imho

I have yet to see a case that allows the tablet to stand up in portrait position -- only landscape. I'm using an inexpensive iPad mini case just for protection until I get a proper N7 2013 case.

My solution is a little 3Feet folding stand from Amazon. Works for every gadget I own so far, even rock solid for my Nook HD+ in vertical orientation. The bottom is wide enough to hold my readers in covers, so I'm not anticipating issues when a cover finally arrives for my Nexus.

Don't forget that the new N7 has speakers both top and bottom of the tablet. I noticed some of the cases only expose the bottom.

Out of curiosity, what case do you use or recommend?

The one I use is the poetic slimline case. Have one for my old generation nexus and it's perfect. Didn't break apart, acts like the I pads smart cover with the wake /sleep.

I have this for my 'old' Nexus 7 as well - preordered it the day they announced it. When it first came in, there were some problems... magnet would 'sleep' the screen when folded back, edges peeled pretty quickly. They proactively told all their customers they'd noted the issue, and they sent out a replacement at no charge about a week later. That one resolved the magnet problem, but one lip of the lid was too long. Again, before I could comment on it, another email from Poetic noting the problem, apologizing, and committing another replacement. The third was perfect, and had the design improvement of being able to fold fully flat back.

With customer service like that, I had no issue whatsoever laying down an order for their slimline for my 'new' Nexus 7. It's not the classiest case on the market (for that, I have Portenzo's Alano Tesoro - an absolute jawdropper if you have the budget and don't mind a bit more bulk), but it has held up extremely well for an inexpensive case, protected it from scratches and a couple of low height drops, and is the slimmest case I've seen (only a couple of millimeters added in any dimension, so still very pocketable).

I ordered mine last Saturday directly from their site. No updates, nothing for something that state's shipping in 2-3 days on Amazon. Think I'm going to cancel.

I bought the final version so I never experienced all those issues. But I know their customer service is excellent, and has 3 year warranty. I don't really like portenzo. They are indeed stylish but I just don't like them. And for all those other cases like the roocase and moko and all those other ones I just do not like at all. Either too bulky, no protection, awkward positioning of device and/or landscape/portrait mode. Poetic slimline was the perfect case that I could find that I liked. For temporary storage I bought a small netbook/tablet messenger bag from Target. I can still use the bag even after i get my case for the nexus 7. bag sort of became my "not too big not too small" misc bag. haha
