Changing Recovery

I have a question on recovery programs.

When I rooted, I flashed CWM Recovery via Rom Manager, as I was pretty familiar with it from my Droid Incredible days.

I am getting ready to try CM10 and was looking at EZ-Recovery and liked TWRP.

My question is:
If I already have CWM Recovery installed, would flashing TWRP do something negative? If I flash it, will TWRP just replace CWM?

Then, if I boot into recovery, is it going to go into CWM or TWRP, assuming I just flash TWRP over CWM.

Will a nandroid back up I made in CMW work if I used TWRP?

Thanks!

The last recovery image flashed is the recovery that will boot.

The various recoveries are not intercompatible, so if you made a backup using CWM then boot into TWRP, you won't be able to restore your previous backup.

So always make a backup after flashing the various recoveries. Also, if the option exists to flash to Phone and SD Card, do it just to be safe.

Another habit I got into is to flash the recovery images twice just to be sure it "took" properly.
