Changing signal strength manually??

I posted this on xda but its going really slow so I'm gona post here too. I dialed *#*#4636#*#* into my dialer to get to the testing menu. I went to phone info.

My signal strength was -56 dBm 4 asu when the preferred network was CDMA and EvDo/LTE auto. When I switched that to EvDo only my signal strength went to -120 dBm 4 asu.

Someone care to explain what's going on? And what I'm screwing up? Thanks

You are not screwing anything up. Your change the speed of what you can transferor surf the internet.

I see you did the Bamf kernel on your Virused ROM.. Keep debating the 1.9 one out there and Bamf. Did you pout the sense on your virus?

I chose the Bamf because its overclocked and undervolted which made me happy the 1.9 isn't overclocked so if you want extra battery life go for that one.

I put sense on my virus so I could get honeycomb theme! Love it so far.
