Charging overnight?

IMO even if users don't care about their battery health (I manage it some.. mainly just try to not let it get 10% or something) I think either Google with Android or Samsung should just do what Apple did.

In the below shot the phone can help manage the health and the user doesn't even have to think about it. It's on by default. I turned it off since I don't charge overnight.

Cool feature

Asus has something similar on their ROG Phone 2 (not sure about their other phones). You can set what time you want the phone to be ready, then it will slow the charge down so that it hits 100% right about that time. If you go to bed at 10:00 pm and plug it in, it's not going to run up and be done at 11:00 pm and dwell at 100% the rest of the night. If you set the timer for 6:00am, then it'll hit 100% at 6:00 am to lower the stress on the battery.

I don't know much more about that specific feature, but it's one of the reasons I was excited about that phone. If I'm going to be forced into a sealed battery, I can at least appreciate the steps they were taking to increase longevity.

I thought , that most Android fast charging ones do that . Fast getting to like 70 percent then slow the rest of the way ?

I've always left my phones charging overnight while I slept. Batteries inherently limit the charge current as their voltage climbs and most phones and chargers have built-in charge controls that will cut back on charging when the battery is full. One reason to always use the OEM charger with your phone.

That's just standard charging requirements of Li-ion regardless of the brand of charger. The only time you may have to worry about over charging would be due to a defect

You Know this Mike's fault lol
Talks about iPhone then Android phone , now ROG phone...he gets lost in what he's trying say .

. I think today like a Monday for him .
In my defence, I was only pointing out that a similar charging scheme is available on Android, just not by Samsung or Google (yes, there's other manufacturers out there. Lol). Much as I'd love that phone, chances of me getting it are pretty slim.

Apples and Oranges dude. I was specifically pointing out that Mooncat was talking about a timed charging scheme. The only confusion in the air is due to excessive starting ether and poor ventilation.w1IHYROtTZxvi.gif
