Charging the LG G3 = Long and Painful!

I got the same problem strangely enough not all the time? I use it at the same outlet with the same cable . I could not yet find out what the cause is?

Its already my 3rd night charging this phone, first time/night I understood that it took long but what's a up with the 3rd night? I am still stuck at 58% from 4AM which was at 14% and now 9AM its still at 58%, is there anyway to make this faster? I am going nuts! And forget about when the screen is on it won't charge at all, it will stay at that amount if something it will go down while plugged in, while my G2 had no problem charging while screen on or off!

Are you using the usb and plug that came with the phone. And i it directly in wall socket or connected thru something else.. First couple charges is gonna be slow cause the battery is New. Then time will cut down to about 2 hrs ... If your charging thru laptop or extension it will take a lot longer cause not enough power will go to phone..

so, I got the G3 2 weeks ago, and the charging was fine until just the last 3 days. I have been using the very same charger it comes with but I don't understand why it suddenly started taking so much longer to charge the device.I am concerned that maybe this has to do with a damaged battery.any thoughts?

Having this issue now after 2 months. It tells me that the remaining time for 45% (I'm now at 55 %) will be 2 and a half hour... Something is not right.

From 5% to 100% in 2 hours. Stock LG charger. Phone is 2 months old.
If charging is slow then charger is faulty. Warranty or buy a new one.

I have Galaxy S5 and charging time is the same when i charge LG G3 with it.
So slow charge-faulty charger.
Fast battery drain-Apps or battery issues.
But more than 2.5 hours is to much time for charging LG. Something is wrong (if you leave the phone alone and dont use it until is fully charged)

I am charging my LG G3 from 4AM at 14% Battery Life got up at 8:30AM battery is on 57%!
Could anybody explain me why it takes so loooooong to charge a stupid battery? In this time my LG G2 was charged already while on the LG G3 I am not even half charged!
Is there a problem?
Anybody has a batter or faster charger?
Please help

P.s. Yes! I am using the charger it came with the G3/G2 (same 1.8Amp Charger)

Mine takes awhile as well but I'm also using a charger that's made for samsung. I don't know if that's why but it really bothers me that it takes so long to charge

Figured it out! The charger that comes with the phone is crap! 1.8Amp is garbage, I got into my car at 10:01 with 60% at 10:20 it was at 80% and that's a car charger on 2.4Amp charger! So I ordered now a 2.4Amp charger from Amazon!!!
Take a look

It's better you don't do that because your phone's charger came rated with 1.8A output. Using higher output will make the battery heat up a lot and also reduce the lifetime of the battery. Soon you will find your battery charge depleting in just a few hours. Plus charging your phone faster than recomended is not necessarily better. 1.8 works fine for my g3, in fact 2A made the battery heat up more and charged in the same time as 1.8A, since the chip (responsible for regulating power to the battery from the charging port) inside the phone will anyway siphon off the extra 0.2A as heat so there is no benefit as I see it.

There is such a thing as over voltage, and excessive current, that may damage the chip(or related components). Listen to Mazer Jax, this is a good point. If you leave your phone on, while charging, just the running processes, may make it charge slowly(some eat up enough battery to take away any charge). Best way, is to not be lazy, when charging, and turn it off. If you need alarms, or syncing services, turn off and charge it at least a hr, before you lay it down for the night. That hr charge will help, with any misbehaving running processes, and you can charge with it on. In any case, watch out, for too much current draw, it may damage the phone.
