Chrome Casting Warning

The recording refers to screen recording your phone. The message seems to be a generic one programmed for use when either screen recording OR screen casting. It is not referring to you recording on a chromecast. The message pops up when I am using the built in screen recorder on my S10+. It is a nag screen and nothing to worry about.
I don't understand how screen recording to your own phone exposes any passwords nor sensitive data to anybody??

Does Samsung or Google somehow monitor screen recording data?

Because its allowing permission to cast or mirror it to tv from.your device.

No just screen recording your own device to create a video of how you played a game or something. It just produces a video only you can see and isn't cast anywhere.

It has to take permission from your device to another device to do so , i can understand why they give this warning now

It seems to me they should have to MAKE these actions secure rather than warning us that it is NOT secure.

Samsung doesn't listen to me though.

I mean its a warning which brings to your attention if you like to proceed , not sure if they can do another way .

At least I know now it isn't a hack. The message looks so odd I was concerned and of course Chromecast does not record so I don't really get the logic of that message.

Just like it's never aliens, it's almost never a hack. Chromecast doesn't record, but it's possible for it to be casted to a device that can record, or be recorded.

I received a update couple hours ago on google home in play store , see if anything change, I can't test until tomorrow .

My Chromecast is on the shelf. I don't plan to set it up again unless I have some use for it. I'm not a big YouTube user and I don't like the warning about it being a foreign purchase when I set it up. It didn't have that warning when I first set it up years ago.

I'm doing everything on Smart View now.

I doubt Hone will change in any significant way.

Let me know if you test out the new Home. I'm curious.

I already have the latest Home. I set up Chromecast gen 2 again but no changes I noticed. I only use it with Chromecast so I don't see all the features.

I watched Prime using Chromecast uneventfully.

Sorry I didn't have a chance today , so no change :(

No biggie. I consider the matter settled at my end although I'll always talk phone features. Glad to know nothing wrong with my phone nor chromecast device.

Yeah definitely nothing wrong with your devices

Hi, I got the same warning since I updated to miui 13 (redmi note 10 pro)

Even worse: after I click "start now" my gcast refuses to mirror. Disconnects. Casting (icon) no problem No idea whether everything is related. Or a miui issue(?) But I have to use another device when I want to mirror something.REALLY annoying. Cheers
