CM7 for Thunderbolt. RC1.1 Updated 6-30 08:51AM Now supports MR2+

I had a bit of trouble getting it to lock too. I reflashed my radio on top of the ROM, and it seemed to work to fix it. If it doesn't lock within an hour, I would try that. I originally flashed the MR2 radio over my MR2.5 radio, and that fixed the problem.

Eventually, I went back to 2.5, and it is still working fine.

I see thant ur running kangbang kernel....hows that working for u? What does it do that helps? Advantages? Disadvantages?

I moved back to bamf remix 2.1, I use the gps a lot and call me silly but I enjoy some aspects of sense. I've got a cm7 backup and I'll be following the updates, it is nice to know this asop option is out there.

Let me clarify that gps does work, but it can be a little flakey and take some time to lock in. The old trick to download gps status helps.

I keep getting tempted to install this ROM... I even downloaded both the ROM and GAPPS... but when I downloaded the ROM I saw it was only 90.3MB... most others I've used including Das BAMF RC3 and now RC4 have been approx 289MB. That size difference is enough to stop me.

How can this be so small... is it just because it does no have Sense and some of the BAMF add ons... is Sense that large???

CM7 has always been 70-100MB for most phones. Sense adds a lot of crap, and the sense 3.0 elements add a LOT of stuff. The 3.0 lockscreen/weather alone is like 40.

Sense is a beast. I haven't rooted my TBolt yet, but CM7 was one of my favorite ROMs on my DInc, pretty much because it was so light. Out of the box, I had maybe 30 apps in the drawer and 3 or 4 running processes. With that little there, I got amazing battery life and always had plenty of RAM.

While I am okay with Sense for the moment, if/when I root, it'll be for CM7.

Re: CM7 for Thunderbolt. RC1.1 Updated 6-30 08:51AM Now supports

It's been rumored that the sense 3.0 update will be over 100 mb download, so that'll give ya an idea how much garbage is put over a stock experience.

Re: CM7 for Thunderbolt. RC1.1 Updated 6-30 08:51AM Now supports

I made an attempt to update to CM7 RC1.1... attempt... I installed the ROM... no LTE, even though I had MR2.5 Gingerbread from my previous ROM.. .rebooted... still nothing... installed GAPPS... logged into my Gmail account over wifi... turned it off... nothing... rebooted... nothing... downloaded and installed MR2 for Gingerbread... still nothing... rebooted again... nothing... something is not working... made a backup... restored Das BAMF Sense 3.0 RC4.

I'm not sure what the issue was, but I'm open to suggestions. I've never seen the radio not come up in less than 15 seconds after my device has booted up.

I've been having the same lack of 3G problem, but from reading through the comments it looks like I'm going to re-flash MR2.5. I'll update after that's done.

Re: CM7 for Thunderbolt. RC1.1 Updated 6-30 08:51AM Now supports

I had your guy's problem, but reflashing the MR2.5 radio made all the difference.

Now I love my phone even more!

CM7 is very fast and everything works perfectly. I dont expereince any of the force closures that I experienced when I was using Das Bamf GingerRemix v2.1 and the ones similar.

From my personal expereince, this is the best build and i highly recommend.

I guess I'll wait until this is out of RC status before I attempt to use it again.

Thanks! I am pretty happy with it so far. I was in downtown Minneapolis yesterday and was getting around 30 Mbps speeds, which is awesome. Unfortunately, spending 4 or so hours there completely tanked the battery with minimal activity, which is less cool. Overall, I really love the hardware, but there is definitely a bit to get used to.

What the heck you finally got a TBOLT..... awesome.... hollar at me or zero if you need any advice dude :) welcome to the club dude

to be honest... CM is a WORK IN PROGRESS for the TB... since the RIL isn't yet avail... I would try any dasBAMF rom... they are the BEST right now... just get used to the radios since you have a 4g phone now... but you know who to ask for help dude... really I am glad another Hinc buddy has joined the dark side ;)

there is like 6ish diff radio's to choose from and some wont work with different roms but your smart and will get used to it :)

after you load the rom are you waiting like 10 minutes without using the phone to allow the rom/kernel to settle in?

also - i think they fixed this but i'm not 100 percent sure - some people were getting 3g/4g but the status bar looked like it wasn't working - maybe that's the case but i assume you've actually tried using data since you've had this problem a few times..

not sure what else it could be.
