This only creates an ad-hoc which is not compatible with some computers and tablets. Just so you know.

I'm 90% sure that's a hardware limitation. Every tethering app and the native tethering in cm7 on both my mytouch 3g and this phone made an ad-hoc network. And the only device I've used that couldn't connect to it was my cr-48

I am not surprised. But I think there is a chrome extension that lets you download the apk from Google play to your PC. Forgot its name though.

So what makes 11D better than 10G?

I've been running 10G for a couple weeks now and I love it! It runs so smoothly and the only problems I've had have been with voice search(fixed by uninstall and reinstall) and youtube in the browser(fixed by downloading youtube app). And I don't use bluetooth so I wouldn't know about that.

So weird... I just tethered my Win 7 desktop to my phone on alpha 9 using wireless tether via a belkin wireless modem. Mind you, I had installed wireless tether through titanium backup.

I guess that explains why you have it working

I figured out the problem. You have to use Wireless Tether (the one blocked by virgin) and not Wi-Fi Tether. They are both from the same developer, which is causing people to get mixed up.

Just checked 11d with wireless tether and has to turn off encryption but it worked great for me connecting one of my other optimus vs running backside on it.

You have to uninstall the voice search app using Titanium and then reinstall from the Play store.
