[Coming soon] The official Android Central review

This "we like to use our phones before reviewing them" sounds close to a rationalization for just being slow. The problem with it is that people are interested in reviews when they can't lay hands on the phone to learn first-hand about them.

Looks like AC in this approach has lost the opportunity to offer their impressions to those anxious to learn about the device prior to shipping. Their review will be too late and mostly irrelevant, unfortunately.

Dangitt! I was going to come on here and complain about the review not beating the phone release. Thanks a lot guy's for spoiling my fun.;)

If you guys knew just how much goes into doing our reviews you probably wouldn't be in so much...

You want it right dont you? :)

Yeah, seriously think AC dropped the ball with this one. Most users won't be inclined to click on the article when they have possession of the phone compared to when they were without it. Obviously Phil's situation is going to be different in terms of battery performance/testing as other sites but we've seen them get reviews out in a "reasonable" amount of time compared to this. All that matters to me is that the GSMARENA review had it at 45 hrs battery life in their test and I was even that much more sold! I'll still click on it for a quick read....from my new E4GLTE once the AC review is released just because I'm loyal. Let's not have this happen again in 2 years with the next flagship EVO, ok? Thanks Phil!

You guys got the phone same time as everyone else did. I understand not putting out reviews after only a day or two like a lot of other sites did, but this is going on almost a month now. It doesn't take that long to run battery tests, other sites have already done in depth tests on it and have had their reviews out for some time. I could somewhat understand if this was a completely different phone, but this is basically the One X with different design and a few beefed up/added features, none of which should draw out the process of reviewing it this long.

Right now, to be honest, whenever Phil decides to put up a review, it really won't matter as much. It'll be an afterthought. The phone is out, you missed putting out a review beforehand even with the week of customs delay.

Gimme a break. I've read your reviews. They barely touch the surface and are no deeper than the others that have been up for weeks. Don't take us for fools. We read other sites and can compare.

Yep, I definitely read other sites to compare. I especially like the ones that use the phone for 24 hours, and have the nerve to tell me that the battery life sucks. Or others that say that absolutely everyone they showed the phone to said that is was HIDEOUS.

Not sure who you mean by "us," but I'm sure that there are many people here who would disagree with you.

I am still looking forward to the review. I know it will be in depth and address many questions that I and several others have. Not everyone is buying the phone on launch day and will be able to answer their own questions. And I know I'll reread the review again just to confirm that I want to buy it when the time comes.

So yes, the review is still warranted, and despite what these people are saying, it'll be appreciated whenever it comes! I'd rather a good review over a rushed review.

What's the point of a review after you've already had the phone for a few days?!? I guess it might server the folks who havent purchased or recieved the phone yet. Oh well, there are already a lot of solid reviews out, so it wasn't like we had no clue going into this.

"Coming soon" was stated 15 days ago. I guess that's soon in somebody's book. Not mine. ;)

Which will come first - Sprint updating the status of the release or Phil updating the status of the review progress?

I was looking forward to what Phil had to say but at this point it seems kind of pointless as most other sites have already released their reviews weeks ago and the phone has been released. Oh, well.

It's coming soon, folks. So said Phil 3 weeks ago. Personally, I hope he gives the next Sprint phone to someone who can meet a deadline. We got a first look at the Photon and a promised full review that never came. I'm betting that the Evo has the same fate.

Starting to wonder if these guys are serious about their jobs or if this is just a casual hobby.
