complete walkthrough of Froyo 2.2 setup

yes, very good. their should be a little green icon next to it. if it has anything else, select it and give it root access manually and walla. ROM manager now has Root access.

I wanted to let everyone know another simple way for everyone to update from a rooted Droid. This is a great method for any noobs that want to take the plunge or just lazy people like myself.

What you'll need:
Rooted Droid
ROM Manager - Downloadable for free from market

Instructions:
1.) Open ROM Manager
2.) Click DOWNLOAD ROM
3.) Go to STOCK IMAGES
4.) Click VERIZON DROID 2.2 FROYO LEAK
- The app will start to download the files needed to install Froyo
5.) After it has completed downloading it will pop up a dialog box asking if you'd like to Backup ROM and Wipe Data. I recommend selecting both BACKUP EXISTING ROM and WIPE DATA AND CACHE as this will give you a backup point in case something goes wrong and will also allow you to have a fresh from scratch firmware installed.
6.) Hit OK

The phone will now reboot and do all the work for you. Once it completes it will restart and you should be running Android 2.2 FRF57 with Root!

Thanks for the ROM Manager easy method, I'm trying it now.

I can see in the walkthrough where Petes Baseband is added to SD and installed, but what about update1 and update2? It says to download them, but never mentions doing anything with them.

Thank asdr24 also - I am trying that now and I'll let you know how I make out. Many thanks to you and Cory to help me through the 1st time troubles. =D

You can also use ROM Manager for the baseband updates. They are in the same folder as Verizon Droid 2.2 Leak. They are the ones listed with the name C_01.4 and so on.

those are old basebands. Pete's is newer so only use that one. I would delete the other ones, but i havent used pete's enough to know if it is without bugs yet.

If I'm not mistaken, all pete's does it automatically update you to .43 from any baseband instead of having to install .41 and then .43

Hahaha Pete have a bug. Good one! lol Keep up all the good work Cory!

LOL!! I checked that box - I remembered cause I was like "darn it. will need to redownload some stuff" then clicked it any way. Oh well. My Froyo is great other than I need to change the kernal to hopefully get more service. The ROM Manager has Superuser status but can not boot up once it shuts down. Grrr...

I was getting 1x data but it kept going in and out. Reflashed the .41 from P3 that ran prior and still didn't have data after activation. Trying to go to a backup now.
