I'm trying to restore my phone from it bootlooping. When I connect my DX in Bootloader mode a window pops up on my computer (running Vista) that says it needs to install software onto my DX before it can function or be recognized. How do I get past this so that I can to RSD-Lite?

Are you sure it isn't trying to install drivers for the device on your PC? I have never heard of a computer installing anything on a USB item that has been connected to it...

That is your computer asking to install the moto drivers on your computer. Don't install cause they aren't needed.

Yeah. That Moto program only MAKES problems rather than solving any. Don't install it, or if you already did, UNinstall it and click cancel any time anything comes up about it when you connect via USB. PITA, but worth while to do.

The X works beautfully as a flash drive where you can access all folders and drag/drop to organize, add or delete. Very smooth.

Under Control Panel there is option to disable Autoplay, if you disable it wont attempt to autorun any apps automatically but this shouldnt happen when you are in Bootloader...
