Confirmed: Verizon Nexus One Cancelled

I wish I could at least pre-order the nexus one for Verizon so I could only have to wait for it to come out and ship.......

Ok, I'll feed the troll.....here ya go little buddy, here ya go!

No need to feed me. I am well fed and pretty studly. Okay, you guys have gone through enough. I will tell you that I have a very good contact that is very informed in the cellphone business. He is the one that told me to go play golf and chase woman instead of waiting around the forums. What he did say is that April is more then likely the month the Nexus will be out. He won't make the mistake of making predictions like others have done. Once you make a predicition and it doesn't happen, your credibility goes by the way of the buffalo.

Like some others in this forum, the Nexus is losing it's interest to me. The Incredible looks Incredibile.

;);)

maybe the delay of 2.1 for the Droid plays into the whole 'strategery'
(release the Incredible first, then the Nexus, and then for anyone who didn't upgrade their phone from a Droid, push them 2.1 as a consolation prize)

I've been waiting as well, but I was thinking the other day - eventually Sprint will have options for a Nexus One as well and I might as well get that when it comes out since it will likely be a lot cheaper for the service contract.

If it's coming out in April then that could very well be next week, however, I'll watch out for posts on April 1st.

April is better than May.

Is the Incredible looking at an April release as well?

what's up with the back of the incredible.... battery cover looks suspect and not sure if im down for sense as well as never getting updates timely like the droid.

I think we are gonna have to wait until the Buy 1 Get 1 Free promo is over at Verizon before we see new phones and new promotions............ anyone else getting the same feeling?

i agree, but just pisses me off that i was living off of the rumored 23rd release date for like month and now my excitement has been crushed and as each day passes im startin to get more and more aggravated....or maybe google is trying to release it as close to april 3rd as possible to steal some more headlines from apple

Welp - I'm officially done checking these threads as of today, and I'm turned off to the Nexus completely now. I'm fine using my ol' blackberry until either the Incredible and/or the Evo comes out. Sorry Google, you woulda had me with a quicker release!

So i was at the verizon store today and mentioned the nexus one and the guy told me that the nexus one is for sure coming to verizon sometime in the coming months. He then went on to say that it will be sold in store. I then mentioned the HTC Incredible and he'd never even heard of it (they were being really sketchy about it when i mentioned it though). I hope they're wrong cause im fed up with my BB...lol

Again this why there is no reason to talk to a in store cell phone reps. They know very little about anything, besides plans. This will not be sold in stores! If you guys read Sprint press release...this is exactly how VZW's will be sold as well.

Well i don't understand why Verizon would support a phone that is not available in stores. Which is what the rep said, and it makes sense.

Verizon will have little to nothing to do with this phone. Verizon is not releasing it, Google is. In most cases we buy our phone from VZW/other carrier who have purchased them from the manufacturer. Carriers then give us subsidies on the phone for signing contracts. With the Nexus One we buy the phone directly from Google. It doesn't make any sense to people because they don't realize what Google is doing. When this phone is released all issues will be handled directly through Google/HTC. The only thing Verizon will provide is service. You will not be able to take a broken Nexus One into VZW anD get it replaced/fixed. They will give you a number to contact Google and depending what the issue is Google will handle it or they will transfer you to HTC. This is Google's model and this is what I'm sure VZW has agreed to with Google. I hope this clears things up a bit.

Exactly......I am looking forward to Google releasing the CDMA version so that I may purchase it from Google and use it on my Verizon service.
