Confirmed: Verizon Nexus One Cancelled

I thought of another possible "surprise": Flash support. My friends at GDC reported seeing Droids and N1's with Flash 10.1 at some exhibitors' booths, and it was expected that Flash would roll out within the next few months...

My vote for "surprise" would be the EVO on VZW!

I just want a new phone already...... My money is ready

I completely agree with this and am actually hoping for it. I do not want to see sold N1s in stores. I don't want a phone that everyone else has! It's stupid I know, just how I like it. It would defeat Google's own purpose, for Google to p#ss away their sales model and start selling them in the store. The "World Phone" I don't believe would hold up or it would have been indicated on the FCC findings. And I don't see the advantages for either company to release similar phones at the same time, in which one will be sold in stores and advertised the hell out of by VZW, and the other will only be sold online and not advertised by VZW at all. I don't really know, all of my interpretations could be completely false and I could be wrong, but going off of how Google seem to want to do things now...this is how I see it.

*pulls hair out*

The "surprise" from VZW will actually be getting this dayum phone released! LOL... This is friggin financial mess for them. Thousands of people literally with money in hand since last week (and yes, me as one of them) and a total let down. Great marketing strategy!

Verizon and Sprint are using different "4G" networks - Sprint's is WiMax, Verizon's will be LTE - and I believe that Verizon is not ready for 4G right now. So, that won't happen.

I think it will come with FroYo.

I bet this is it but they do say that it is something not found on N1s for other carries. It wouldnt make sense since it would just be an update away from being equal again.

I hope for a better touchscreen or integrated Fleshlight or something

Methinks Chuck might have some insider knowledge - or just lots of wishful thinking :P

with the evo and and new iphone faceplate leak showing a front cam, it looks like the nexus one might be outdated before its even released. this is what happens when you keep pushing the dates, those we were once ready to spend that $$$ slowly get turned on by other devices.

Exactly. Hundreds, heck thousands, of people are (were) ready to shell out whatever the price might be, $200, $500, etc. for the N1 and nothing. I've been contemplating myself moving on and switching to TMobile or AT&T to get the N1, but hate to give up the better coverage/reception VZW has. Uhhhh... what to do! :)

Very True. I was ready to buy the N1 and give my wife my droid but the longer it takes for the N1 to come to Verizon the less and less likely that it's going to happen. The phone has been available for around 2 months now and in the life of a phone, that's middle aged or at least graduating college:rolleyes:

I think now I'll wait to see what the HTC incredible is all about before I buy the N1.

i feel the same way, but how can we make a decision when we don't even know the offical specs of the Incredible. It just hope that it is INCREDIBLE, all I see so far is the better camera(officially).
I have money ready to buy something new, just bring it already.

That's technology for ya. Here's my take on the matter, is there better hardware on the horizon, yes if you consider Sprint's Evo. Heck, one might as well wait for the rumored HTC Scorpion which will supposedly have a 1.5 GHz processor.

But what attracts me to the Nexus One is that it's simply "Google's phone." New versions of Android will be available first while others will have to wait for HTC Sense and Moto Blur to be updated and pushed by their respective carriers. I'm also sure Google specified hardware to handle any software advancement in the forthcoming year, (or two.)
