Confirmed: Verizon Nexus One Cancelled

It was two months after passing the FCC. That would put the CDMA N1 at a 4/23-ish release.

AT&T passed FCC January 30th-ish released March 16th, T-Mobile passed FCC December 14th-ish released January 5th. So release can be done with in a month, but evidence shows it's can be stretched out to month and a half or longer.

I do agree we will not see the CDMA N1 until at least the end of the month.

Once the N1 passed the FCC it was sent on to VZW for their internal testing. Many of us who have waited on VZW phones before after months of rumors know full well that VZW testing is like a black hole. VZW tests their phones more then anyone and that is why when they finally do arrive someone else is already putting out a phone that blows the one you wanted out of the water. Consider the Samsung Galaxy and the HTC EVO for this comparison. VZW will get the N1 just in time for the other guys to get even better phones. I dream of the day VZW could get their act together and test out phones in a timely manner.

My 200th post wow that did not take long.......Okay I too am getting frustrated. I only get my hopes up one day a week and that is Tuesday as that seems to be Google's day for launching items. I want the full Google experience, I do not care if the N1 comes out before or after the Incredible. I want a phone that gets updated on day one, unlike my Eris that is still sitting on 1.5 and will for who knows how long. I have the case, extra battery, screen protectors, docking station, and the car dock, but still no phone. I just want the phone. At this point I am starting to lean towards switching to AT&T.

We have created this hype, Neither Verizon nor Google came out and said the phone was coming out until Summer and yet new dates are published every day by third parties that have no real information. I would be satiated with just a release date announcement from Google that narrows the window. I know they won't though, as it was released when it was ready for AT&T without any pre-release notification. Oh well, with that in mind I will continue to look forward to the next Tuesday. When you look at it that way it really is not that bad, I only have 9 more Tuesday's, while everyone expectations are peaked for the next 70 days until the end of spring.

Thanks everyone and here is hoping for Tuesday April 20th 2010.

Does Sprint have the same arcane testing process? That wouldn't explain why they don't have the N1 yet.

The Incredible has my vote for being a better phone (better camera, longer battery life, fast enough clock speed), but whichever phone is released first and is subsidized will get my money.

I doubt Verizon will subsidize their phone so you are probably stuck with a contract and in Incredible

Of course Verizon will have the N1 subsidized...there is no other reason why they have their logo on Google/phone website. AT&T does not have a logo, just compatible phone. I believe the only reason Sprint doesn't have their logo up their now is because pricing hasn't been figured out yet. But really who knows...I need to stop spending my time on here and just wait until I get a Tweet or email saying it's available!

ANYBODY ELSE SEE THIS, maybe it is because i use google chrome, but no matter what web page I go to there is an ad for the Nexus one. Its like it is taunting me. Every single page that I visit has the ad on it as a constant reminder that I can't have the phone. AND IT PISSES ME OFF.

i wish they would quit spending all this time and money to get ads on each and every single page i look at and only offering Tmobile, and at&t.. spend that money to get a verizon phone released, and you have my purchase.. need to pay a Business strategist and hire the marketers

Verizon's marketing has been very effective for the Droid. TV commercials, online and print ads. One only needs to drive through a big city to see countless billboards and building-size banners. Their marketing has been very aggressive and the Droid sales back that up.

As far as Google's marketing of the N1? Well that's harder to gauge. True their advertising is in regular Google fashion, (online.) But besides T-mobile there's no other way to (currently) purchase a subsidized N1 in the States. My gut feeling is we will see heavier advertising once the N1 is available on all 4 major carriers. And when you think about it, the N1 will be almost as widely available as the Blackberry curve. That's a big deal.

I am gonna guess that both companies with their billions of dollars and the ever increasing worth of the stock that they own, that they are probably doing the right thing?

Sit tight boys and girls, the N1 is upon us, heck! Might be this month!

It is nice to read that you expect N1 with US carriers, but you make too much noise about release dates. It will be soon for sure.
What can I say, I can't even buy N1 for 530$. Not available here.

So when you get nervous about release dates on local carriers, just think of how you are privileged for now.

Don't you have the Desire out there? I heard it was going to be available in Europe. And it's basically the same phone, except for some slight tweaks here and there.
