I agree, there is some lag. but trust me, ALL cameras have this. go onto any camera review web site and you'll see that they test for this. the cameras that have the least amount of lag are dSLR cameras. next are the high end point and shoots. followed close by the lower end point and shoots that have far more shutter lag.....then we have cell phones. yes even the iphones have some lag.
while I agree with you, it is not reasonable for many companys to do just what you are asking. all phone manufactures have to make some parts cheaply or the price of our phones would be well beyond what you are seeing today.
so if we get the best radios, the best screen, the best software/widgets, the best camera, the best battery, and so on...JUST WHAT WOULD YOU PAY FOR THIS? $200 more then you are paying now? $300 more? $400 more? do you really want to buy a $900 phone?
and just when do we stop? should we now want a real zoom lens on our phones? because a good set of glass on a phone alone is going to skyrocket the price by at least $200.
as said, you can turn off a few features and get less lag. but if you are expecting all phones to have the same camera, and all of them should be at least as good as a $500 point and shoot, then get ready to pay big bucks. maybe a custom camera instalation is what you are looking for...I have a friend that may do something for you, but expect to pay at least $400for what would be at best a poor point and shoot attached to your phone.
as I stated in the past, OUR expectations can be sometimes way to high when we are buying a phone. something has to be compromised. do you want it to be a lower res screen? worse radios? lower build quality? it's going to be some of the above or all of them in order to have a better camera and still have the same price range. that's reality weather we like it or not. in otherwords...it's just a camera on a phone. need more? how about a good P&S or a cheap dSLR?
