connect LG G2 to pc, will it show up as a drive?

If you are using the correct USB cable then what you wanna do is open up device manager and look for any icons with an exclamation point. The icons should show up in a sub menu when you open device manager. Right click on anything that has an exclamation point and click update driver. If that does not work then right click on them again and uninstall the driver then unplug your phone and plug your phone back in. It will automatically install the drivers for you. I hope this helps.

I could not connect my lg g2 to my computer before because I did not have the right usb data cable, now since I use a another usb data cable, it works great, you can try what I say and tell me what you found

Yeah, I've had my phone for almost 4 months, and finally just figured this out. It's more hidden than it needs to be, because it doesn't automatically recognize the device, which is what 95% of media devices do nowadays.
Anyways, after you connect via USB, you have to go to Settings-->General-->PC Connection-->Select USB connection method-->media sync (MTP). On my PC (running Windows 7) it then shows up in "my computer" as a portable device, recognized as the G2.

I am having the same problem a i accidently performed a factory reset on my phone g2.I have downoaded a few recovery tools but this doesnt show up on all those apps and shows up only as a portable media!!!
Any remedy?

This is not working for me either.

I think I am using the right cable. I will check.

I am not seeing the PC Connection option under Settings-->General--

I DO see a grayed out "USB Tethering" option under Settings/Networks/Tethering and Networks.

All this because Lollipop seems to have killed my Google apps (isn't that ironic?) and I want to get my VIDEOS off my camera (already figured out I can upload my photos to Flickr - woohoo) so I can do the factory reboot. Sigh - very frustrated.

I have the exact same problem with my Windows 7 64-bit computer from work but it works fine on other computers I found a work-around by connecting the phone to a Belkin USB hub (Search Amazon for Belkin 7 port USB hub with power supply) and then Windows finds the phone as a portable device and I'm able to copy files back and forth using the File Explorer. It's really annoying, but as another user posted earlier, you could use Wireless Storage and copy files via your wi-fi using \\<the phone's IP address>\

Don't know what windows you are on but I just verified that this works in Windows 10. After you connect to the phone via USB a pop up window shows up. I picked pictures. Then go into your windows file folders and look for your phone's drive name- something like VS980 open that and then drag the DCIM folder to where you want it on your comp...for me that's in my pictures folder. May take a while to copy the pictures. If you use other photo apps those pictures es are probably in different spots.

Courtesy of AndroidWidgetCenter, the following solved it for me. Especially appropriate was the section "If the IP address is not recognized or you have some issues regarding connection, try one of the following alternatives."

LG G2 Wireless Storage lets you have access to your phone's files (Pictures, Music, vidoes...) wirelessly from your PC. Make sure both devices are connected to the same Wi-Fi network and then do as follows to start the connection
1. Go Settings app and Networks tab
2. Under Connectivity open Share & Connect.
3. Open Wireless Storage and enable it (You can also enable it from the notification panel and then long press on the icon to open the settings)
4. Now you should see the Wi-Fi network you are already connected to, an IP address, and a Username and Password
5. On your laptop or PC, type the given IP address in the browser of your computer, enter Username and Password, and then you have complete access to the stored file on your G2 from your PC.
** If the IP address is not recognized or you have some issues regarding connection, try one of the following alternatvies
1. Press Start and in the search box, look for this address: //TheGivenIPAddress/G2 (for example: //192.168.10.10/G2)
2. Type the given IP address in a Windows Explorer window, rather than in the browser
3. If you are running Windows 7, there is a search box on the top right of each windows explorer window, search for the IP address there

Thank you, thank you, thank you., Jeana.

Your post was the one that did exactly what it said it would do... connected my LG G2 as a wireless drive. Terrific.
For me, it was the typing the address given in the search box after hitting the start button. (Forget it in the Goggle Chrome search box, NG)

Funny thing is, my LG used to connect with a cable, and give me a pull down selection for camera, storage, etc... but it disappeared. This is actually a better way, not having to plug in the USB to my phone. Since I also charge it wireless. Perfect.

Thanks again.

Hey,

I am not seeing anything like "wireless storage" or "PC connections" in my settings menu.
I guess updating the OS to android 5.0 was the bad decision and it stopped many services like 3-finger scroll..

Share if anyone else is finding the same problem.
