Considering switching to T-Mobile

The more opinions I read, the more indecisive I become 😕

I know T-Mobile is good at my wife's job for sure....but Idk how good it will be in the rest of Miami. I've checked sensorly and it seems just about equal to sprint in coverage but slightly higher speeds.

Don't want to leave Sprint with my grandfathered Sprint family all data plan, then Sprint becomes the best network to be in, within a year, then I can't come back at the same price.

Is there a way for me to test T-Mobile out with my Nexus 5 from Sprint?

You should be able to test things out easily through T-Mobile. Just go to the store and start a plan. They'll give you a SIM card which you can put in your Nexus 5. The number will be different from your existing number, but while you're testing it out, you could always forward your calls on your Sprint line to the new T-Mobile line (but texts can't be forwarded, though). If you don't like T-Mobile, you can cancel any time, and you'll just be charged the prorated amount--no early termination fees. If you decide you like it, then T-Mobile will port your Sprint number over to the T-Mobile sim (replacing the temporary number), and you're good to go. This is how I changed from Verizon to T-Mobile.

Yep... just pick up one of those 'burner' SIMs at whatever store has them... They'll come with some minutes and some data... whatever.... pop it in, check it out for a few days. If it doesn't work the way you want, toss it into a drawer and put your Sprint back in.

What's the difference? Will Sprint launch 20x20?

Think of 5x5 as the amount of spectrum they have available to use.
So a decent analogy would be 5x5 as being a straw,
10x10 is a garden hose
20x20 is a fire hose.
Im in a 10x10 TMO area that is also going thru the 20x20 (dallas, tx) upgrade and to me anything less then 8 megs down is slow. LOL at work i went from 15 to 26 megs down and 10-15 up.
But its all relative, i honestly think that for me, anything above 5 is good. The extra spectrum will help with capactiy issues down the road. As more uses hop on TMO the 10x10 and 20x20 will handle loads better. Given the tower has the back haul to handle it as well.

I had a customer come in to buy my old EVO LTE, she was using a Galaxy Mega and she was stuck on 3g. I helped her with a PRL and Profile update, the Mega briefly showed Spark, then LTE, then back to 3G.. I left Sprint in January of 2013 and have been happy ever since.

Will Sprint transition into 20x20? With all the new spectrum I mean

Not all in one chunk.
I think they will keep 5x5 inthe 1900mhz pcs spectrum.
The old WiMax stuff 2500mhz (going off memory so that number might be wrong) is 10x10 or 20x20.. They will have LTE on that.
and they will add another 5x5 or 10x10 in the 800mhz spectrum that Nextel vacated.
Sorry i wish i had more concrete numbers for you.
