Constant HSPA+ Data Drop and Failed Download on Large Files

Damn iPhone users clogging up the network.

Yeah, HSPA+ and 3G keeps dropping any downloads I start, despite the great reception I get in Houston. (surprisingly)

Yep, it's really frustrating.

I'm curious...has anyone taken their phones to a store and demonstrated the problem right in front store employees? Especially more then one phone or account? If so, what was the response?

I did and they had no clue what I was talking about. They swapped my SIM. Still the same ol ****.

Tell me about it. I had to redownload CyanogenMod 10.1 Linaro 4.7.3 chainlink 10 times and it took an hour longer: average download completion time on my phone is less than two minutes for a >200MB .zip

Meanwhile, the massive amounts of T-Mobile iPhone users are probably busy downloading trivial "system updates" that don't do s***.

I can confirm that tower maintence / upgrade was to blame for a 5 day data slow down at my office.
I work on the 4th floor, and out my office window i can see the closest TMO tower. Ironically about the same distance away is a TMO corporate store. :)
Friday i saw a long boom go up and they were working on the tower. I did a quick speed test and got 15 megs down and 2 up.. But by the end of the day it was down to 2 megs down and .5 megs up.
Saturday the same long boom was up in the air but on a different side of the tower. Same speed tests. Monday same slow speed test.
Today, ran one before writing this and i got 14 megs down and about 2 up. So looks like they did antenna work for 2 days and then finished up with another day (or 2 if they work sundays) to finish up the base station part of the work. I already emailed the store manager at the corp tmo store and was going there tomorrow to check on the slow data speeds and scope out a HTC One. But looks like the data issue has resolved its self. Hopefully LTE will come on soon.

Okay well rather then have them tinker with your phone, show them the problem can be replicated on THEIR in store phones. And then see what they say. If it's a global problem affecting all their phones in the store, it's proof that they can stop monkeying around with your individual phone and try to get some real answers.

All they say is that they will reset your account, but that's not the issue since it's their network that's the problem.I have tryed my phone in other areas and the same problem happens everywhere.I have the lg optimus l9 non contract with unlimited 4g for $70 a month. The first month i had themtheir networks were fineuntill the pcs merger and then their doing the lte stuff.

I have noticed the same issue around that time. I spoke to T-Mobile and they said use Wi-Fi, but that's not why I am paying 70 a month to get unlimited data.

T-Mobile limits large file downloads, in my opinion it makes sense, but it is a little annoying... Movie streaming on Netflix isn't affected, but files over 500mgb are restricted. They do it to restrict over use. It's better than getting your data cut off completely. Info in this article.

Well your link is dead... This post was already old... And you're wrong.

I downloaded a 1.5 GB file yesterday.. No problem.
