Hi - I somehow managed on my old Droid 2G to set up my corporate email through the server.

I got my Droid 3 today, but have forgotten what I did during the setup previously. I'm getting an error message that the format is wrong.

I'm typing this:

server1.companyname.com:# (where # is the port number) . I do remember this was exactly how I typed it in my old Palm Centro, and how I RDP in from my laptop currently.

I'm leaving the "optional" Domain field blank, because I don't have any idea what to put in. I wonder if that could that be a deal breaker? What are examples of domain names?

Finally, I set up some security features on the Droid 3, I can't remember if I did them on the Droid 2 (I was able to get into my corporate email on the Droid 2). Tese enclude device data and stoarge encryption.

Thanks for any help!

This isn't going to be much help but your best bet is contact your company's IT department.

Your domain is the your company's domain. On a work computer, if you right click on My Computer then Properties (in Windows XP you will need to click on the Computer Name tab) you should see something like yourcomputername.companydomain.local. So your domain would be companydomain. So you enter your user name as companydomain\username. From your example, I would have to assume your server would be server1.companyname.com. It may be server1.companyname.com/exchange or it may be something else. If none of this works, you will need to contact your I.T. department because this stuff isn't standard and it depends on how your company's server was setup.

Thank you otacon and richardh!

I'm now able to enter my corporate calendar and email from the Droid3 :-) !

I notice that the sync isn't "complete" in either, the calendar has some items populated, but many missing, possibly similar in the email. But that's a battle for another day ... at least I'm in!

Thanks again -
