Corrosion on Charging Port?

I just got my Galaxy S6 last week and it started acting crazy Tuesday and Wednesday and this morning it wouldnt charge bc it was overheated. I took it in to Sprint and I was told the charging port was all corroded. I ask how this was possible when it had been no where near water and I was told moisture from somewhere. I told the tech that it had to have come corroded and he arrogantly said No, it didnt come like that. How do u know I ask, do you inspect each new phone that comes in before it goes out to the customer? I am calling Sprint and the Samsung!!
