Couple noob questions....

OKay, I have a noob question... how do I get the default ringing to be the mp3 I want to use?

place the mp3 in a folder called ringtones

for alert notifications put them in a folder called notifications

then when you go to change your ringtones, the mp3 should show up

That worked wonderfully. Awesomely simple!

Does this thing show up as external drives like the BlackBerries do?

yes it will, but when you plug it in, you have to enable mass storage mode by dragging down the notification panel and turning it on.

Every time. There may be a third party app that automates this, though.

you mean on the keyboard?

settings, language and keyboard, touch input

then uncheck vibrate when typing

Can you activate the phone without calling vzw?

yes, you can do a *228 option 1 or 3 and it will ask what number you are putting it on, and the security code for the account.

i think you can do it online too

If you do it online you have to still dial *228 anyway
