Cracked screen? :(

Checked my bank account, and I haven't yet been refunded for the original Nexus, but I noticed that FedEx did remove the second charge I had on there... So, not really sure what's going on. Wondering if I should call Verizon about it, or give them some more time yet (since they received it Friday and then went on a three day weekend), and if I call Verizon, I don't know which number to call, or what to even say. @_@

What's an RMA#? Anyway, I didn't think any of that mattered; I figured that once the girl I talked to told me to said in my old one, they'd be expecting my old one to come back within the next five days.

I was never given one. The girl just told me to send the old one back within five days. I told her I didn't save the original box/ return label it came in, and she sort of thought for a moment, and suggested I put the old phone in the box the new one came in and send it back that way. I was wary about doing that, though, because we were heading into a long weekend, and I wasn't sure they'd get it back within five days if I waited for them to do that, so I overnighted it, myself.
 
What kind of documentation did you include in the box with your phone when you sent it back?
 
The longer you wait to contact Verizon and get this sorted out the worse it will be for you. Call them and straighten it out now or you may not be able to

A copy of my original receipt, and a note that I was returning it. I didn't think it was a big deal; the "return instructions" on the receipt itself said nothing about an RMA. It just said to package the phone and a copy of the receipt in the box it shipped in with, and affix the return label on it.
 
So, I think I'll give Verizon a call tomorrow, but... what should I say? I'm not good with this kind of thing... If they seem like they don't want to give me a refund, what exactly can I say to "plead my case"?

Just tell them that you threw away the box, threw away the return label (with the phoneID on it), didn't follow the CS Reps instructions about using the new box because it didn't seem like a good idea to you, but just mailed it back the way you saw fit. I'm sure they'll work it out.

Just say you don't know what to do. You put in for a return and didn't get your money back. Tell them how concerned you are for that kind of money.

Then fight them. Keep elevating the call. Under no circumstances call it a crack. Manufacturers defect and line in the screen should be the only phrases you use.
 
Was just getting ready to call up Verizon, and I happened to check my e-mail, and saw that I got one a couple hours ago from them saying that they're processing my refund. Whew! I'm so happy I can finally put this giant mess behind me now.
