I truly believe that, if you look hard enough, you can find some great deals on ebay and swappa for used and new phones. But some people are in outer space when it comes to pricing. One listing was for a 128GB galaxy S6 edge @ $800.00. Are you kidding? This may have been a just Ok price when the S6 edge first broke. But NOW? The S7 edge breaks Friday. Besides, why would anyone pay close to that, when a well known ebay retailer is selling them for $529.00 with free shipping? And that's a BRAND NEW VERIZON & UNLOCKED. be careful my friends. Do your homework before you buy. Make sure that great deal, really is.

Some people will buy an expensive phone just to feel proud and to show-off that they can afford it. Because to them, expensive is better for your social status. If you know who I'm talking about.

On the flip side of it, especially with Ebay, if a deal is just too good to be true...
In the case of cell phones I think there's something to be said in regard to post sale customer service, I think there are those who are willing to pay more for it.

Used hardware is one thing I don't trust. Or refurbished. Too many issues. That's why I always go for new, something in the midrange price. Without carrier subsidies I see the prices lowering in a few years

I bought my BlackBerry Q10 (a few years ago) when it first came out; and I paid a hefty price tag/contract cancellation fee. Though I loved it to bits and still miss it to this day, that was the last time I bought a high-end, just-came-out device. I now wait for the phone I want to get really inexpensive; or at least more "purchasable" than it had been previously. I really wanted the LG G3; so I kept checking prices at Rogers for months until it got down to $0. Then I snagged it. Does it mean I have to wait a long time to get the phone I want? Yup. But to me, buying a phone that's still really good but "not at the top of the pile" is a way better deal than buying a top-of-the-line phone at launch and not only spending too much on it, but also realizing that I could get a very similar phone for much less money.

Some people care a lot about having the latest and greatest, which is totally fine; but I prefer to just buy what I myself like, regardless of "how in" it is. Saving money means a lot to me too; so I want to get a good phone for a good price. I'm happy with going this route; as I feel more in control of my spending and I've realized that I'm okay with not having the latest phone out there. Everyone is different, and that's cool.

I personally think that phones these days are *TOO* expensive; especially given the fact that contract users will upgrade early; and non-contract users are forced to pay full-price for a device that they may only want to use for a year or so until they upgrade again. I'd personally be okay with carriers and companies slashing their cell phone prices in half; but that's just me. ;)

Well, I took a chance on that 128GB galaxy s6 edge on ebay from Breed Mobil when they dropped the price to 469.00 on the 12th when the S7 broke. I took the chance for two reasons. 1-breed has a very hight rating from consumers, and 2-the item was guaranteed by ebay. GUESS WHAT, ITS TRUE. I GOT A BRAND NEW SAMSUNG GALAXY S6 EDGE, 128GB, FACTORY SEALED WITH ALL FACTORY SEALED ACCESSORIES. as soon as I got it, I had Verizon verify the esn/imei, and once they did, I popped in my Verizon sim card and its been flawless so far. So this is my backup to my galaxy S7 edge. Remember, if ebay guarantees it, go for it. By the way, I just checked breed on ebay and the phone is back up to 529.00. But that's still an awesome price . And that 800.00 s6 edge on swappa never sold even though "there's a sucker born every minute".
