Custom ROM or Downgrade to 4.4.2?

After some opinions here. Lollipop runs horrible on my i9505, Yes I've done all the usual factory reset, clear cache etc but still horrible. So my options here are downgrade to stock 4.4.2 or a custom ROM, the problem I am finding with custom ROMs is they all seem to have issues and require a lot of tweaking etc, I can't be bothered with all that, I just want something that works. Any advice?
