Never had any issues with rebooting, but now it has been happening about once a week.

Does anyone with the custom ROMS have the reboot issue?

Will getting a custom ROM fix this?

I am just factory rooted, but will getting a custom ROM fix the reboot issue?

are you running on the stock radio or have you applied either of the leak radio's (MR2 or MR2.5)?

also, did you accept the OTA that was pushed out a while back? most users reported reboots AFTER accepting this OTA

What rom and radio are you using????

It's probably your radio causing reboots.

I am just factory rooted, wondering if the custom roms will fix the reboots. I havent updated, or accepted any of the new OTA stuff.

It is the same phone as I bought back in March, just rooted so wife can tether her iPod touch while we drive to play games and such.

If you are stock rooted, you can try the other froyo radios.

there are 4 radios, i believe the first one on that list is the OTA update radio, and there is also the original radio, and 2 combinations of these radios (new lte old cdma, old lte new cdma).

You can experiment with these to find the radio that best suits your phone and does not cause reboots.

Typically, roms don't cause the reboots, it's the radio.

When did you root? Before or after the OTA came out?

Up until 2 days ago I was rooted, had VirusROM with the stock radio, and had the "stock" radio. Never had a single reboot or any problem whatsoever.

I now have the new radio and a new ROM, and still haven't had an issue.

So I have been rooted since about 2 weeks after I got the phone, had a custom ROM since a couple days after that, and have never had a random reboot or any type of problem.

I have only had maybe 2 reboots the whole time i've had the tbolt - since the day after it came out basically.

some phones (actually, lots of phones) reboot with certain radios. Some phones were rebooting with the original radio, and, notably, alot of phones started rebooting AFTER they got the first OTA from verizon.

Anyway, the reason for the reboots is likely in the radio - and that's why there are 4 froyo radios made available by the root community - The OTA froyo, the old froyo, and 2 combinations of those 2 radios.

Now there are two new radios, mr2 and mr2.5, which currently work with the Gingerbread sense roms for tbolt, but will be working with froyo mr2-ril based roms as they begin to come out (i understand that flyweight is one of these to come out so far).

basically, if you ahve reboots, one of these radios should work for you - if you want gingerbread, either mr2 or mr2.5 should work, and if you want froyo, one of the four should work pretty well for you i hope.

either way, there are radios available to try if you are rooted. if you're not rooted, and you have reboots, i would suggest returning your phone for a different handset that HOPEFULLY doesn't have this issue.

I've had reboots stock and on roms, but I haven't had a reboot in weeks. It's amazing.

This is probably why I never had the reboots. I never got an OTA from Verizon. And now I have MR2.5, since I wanted to flash the BAMF/Sense 3.0 ROM.

Idk, I can see how it would be ridiculously annoying to have the reboots and whatnot, but there are fixes too. Why not just roll back your phone after the update caused problems, for starters?

That aside, since I have been rooted and using ROMs practically since I've had the phone, I haven't had the reboot issues at all.

I have been on liquid gingersense v1.2 and have been for a couple days. using the mr2.5 radio i have had 1 reboot each day. not terrible but it is happening right in the middle of streaming pandora each time.
i may be giving MR2 a try since i seemed to have better reception with that radio anyway.

It has been rooted since before the OTA first came out. I would mid April is when it was rooted.

So if you rooted before the ota came out, you probably still have the original radio that came with the tbolts at launch.

If you want to get rid of reboots, i would suggest flashing the OTA mr1 radio, if you plan to stay stock-rooted. There are also 2 other radios that combine the components from the Original radio with the MR1 Radio - each of these radios has a LTE radio and a Cdma radio - so the 2 combination radios are New LTe+Old Cdma, and Old Lte+New Cdma.

I would try those, unless you want to upgrade to a gingerbread sense rom, then you could try the mr2 or mr2.5 radios, which have significantly helped reduce reboots from the feedback that has been posted.
