Cyanogen 7

Yah I'm set up to 1.2 oc -75 across the board except 100 and 200 I have -100 UV. I reccomend thus kernel to all it freakin flies! However battery hasn't been great for me but as soon as glitch puts out an update we can all wipe r stats and then really test how the battery is.

or you could buy a new battery and then start fresh.. :p

Ok peeps... I took the plunge.... I am still using ED04 for now (I got burned with EC09 and still am a bit shy).

I opted NOT to install any of the Gapps upon install. Is there a way to get the install option back?

I think you can just re-flash GAPPS in CWR... (not 100%, but worth a try)

but, you cant get to the correct CWR using the 3 finger method, you have to reboot into recovery from the power-off menu (reboot > recovery)

If on cm7 forget 3 finger even exsists. Only reboot recovery ....just flas gapps again. Or just install all the Google stuff manually

You'll have to reflash GAPPS to at least get the Market... Once you have that you can install the others from there.

And regarding CWM, it has been reported by a few that if you Odin the blue CWM that overwrites your existing recovery, and you can once again use the 3-finger salute to boot into recovery

Flash it this morning, no issues so far.

To install: follow the directions in the OP of JT's thread on XDA. You'll need his recovery flashed first. Reports are that using the Odin version works out best, because it will overwrite your existing CWM. If you use the flashable recovery, you will have both versions, meaning the 3-finger salute will get you into your old CWM, and using ADB reboot recovery or the power options will get you into the new one.

Once you have flashed the new recovery, you can flash the ROM just like any other: wipe cache, dalvik, and data; flash ROM; flash GAPPS

The only issue I have noticed so far is the in-call volume. I can hear the people I'm talking to just fine, but everyone I have talked to can barely hear me. Hopefully that is something that will be addressed. I'm weighing whether or not that merits going back to UKB or not
I cant find the install directions (To install: follow the directions in the OP of JT's thread on XDA) Can you give me a more specific link?
THANKS
Mark

Radio! Good question. So I read that the package only includes the Rom and Kernel. Because of that, since I already have the ED04 radio, will that stay on my phone or will I have to do something else?

you can stay and it will stay with the ED04 radio

Im looking forward to taking this rom for a test drive.... i hate having to wait to get home to do these updates

Ok.. who knows the answer to this one???

When my screen shuts off, sometimes the 4 buttons stay lit and I am not sure why. Obviously it is using the battery a bit and I want to conserve as much battery life as possible.

There is a built in "led notification" in CM7, which is actually the softkeys staying lit... so if you have any type of notification, that could be why

*I'm trying to research the atlas_v2.2.pit some people mention flashing in Odin. I did not (obviously) does anyone know what this is and whether I can flash it now or do I need to start over? If I find the answer I'll edit it in. I mean I saw mention of it in post #2 but figured since it wasn't linked or discussed further it wasn't necessary.
** ok I was told over at XDA the pit file is necessary to revert back from CM7 to any other ROM and is not a necessary step going to CM7.

I must say there is a distinct lack of a "n00b friendly" install instructions over there. I only really figured stuff out by reading about 20 or so pages of the thread. You do that and you get enough people asking how to flash and enough exasperated people reluctantly describing the procedure followed by a "jeez just read/search" or "it's in the OP!!" :)

** ok here's a nicer explanation than mine below by someone we all know and lurv - http://forum.xda-developers.com/showpost.php?p=15742263&postcount=2444

My understanding is that up until this version (or the 7/13 version) installation was a bit more tricky and involved a few more steps. Coming from ComRom (or any ROM besides CM7 or MIUI irrc) I just:

• Fully charged battery - place the zips on the SD card (ROM/Gapps/Dockfix)
• Power down - Odin the blue CW posted in the OP of the CM7 XDA thread
• Boot into CWR and clear data/cache/dalvik cash (3x I'm in the habit of doing this now thanks to CR)
• Flashed CM7
• Boot up once and then reboot into CWR (not sure if this is necessary - may be able to flash all items at once)
• Flash the update zip (related to dock audio) - Flash Gapps zip (found in the OP of CM7 XDA thread
• Reboot - profit

Now the first time I did this it took a couple tries to get the Gapps to flash successfully, but it worked the second time. Also, the first time I flashed I couldn't get my Wifi to turn on. My "fix" was the tried and true - Go back and wipe it all and reflash and bingo Wifi works.

I think its that simple (or it was for me) someone let me know if I'm missing something.

There are a few bugs - ones I've encountered involve odd errors when in a call (my music keeps playing during the call or an alarm will sound in a loop) and some odd jitteryness with the Video Camera (which seems to have been fixed by installing the MIUI camera replacement (highly recommended).
xda-developers - View Single Post - [ROM] CyanogenMod 7 (fascinatemtd) pretty-much-official build 11.1 - [07/18/11]

Nothing too bad - a few Force Closes but I did restore apps and app data with Titanium so I may try starting over and not restoring my apps via Titanium (I often wonder why I bought that app as everyone always warns against using it)

Does anyone know the location of the original CM7 kernel? I am using Glitch, but I would like to see if any issues are fixed by reverting.

I saw a few posts in the xda thread about the orientation sensors being really laggy. Has anyone here run into that?

My understanding is that is an inherent problem in CM7 and would have to be addressed in future dailies or in the next version. There are 3 or 4 relatively minor issues, but so far they can be lived with. The only one that bugs me is the phone call issue and I rarely use this as a phone ;).

Just couldn't resist installing CM7. Everything went well once I realized that the search button is the "this is my selection" button in blue CWM.
