Cyanogen 7

Push simply means use a file manager program with full write access (root exporer or super manager are two common programs available on the market)...

Anyway, use the file manager to copy the file into the appropriate system file on your phone

Never tried super manager, but I've been very happy with ES File Explorer.

So I need to catch up on the XDA thread - I like to read everything so I'm up to date on things, but I heard that the Fascinate should be getting "nightlies" now and I'm wondering if anyone set this up yet (if its possible yet) and are you using ROM Manager to do it?

How do you "push" that gps fix? I want to try it out

Just answered this in another thread so here is my answer copied and pasted:

If you haven't already done so, purchase and download Root Explorer from the market. Download the GPS fix to the base of your sd card. Open Root Explorer, click on the sd card folder, scroll to the gps fix file, long press on the file and choose move, you will see two gray bars at the bottom of the screen with the left one being "paste". Use the back soft key once, scroll to the etc file and click on it, then click the paste button. Done. If you get an error saying it is a read or write only file, just click the gray box at the top of the screen that will either read r/o or r/w.

Thanks...Yeah thats what I thought too... but for some reason the "change input method' is not in there... I had to enable the new keyboard in settings then long press in any text field (sms, gmail, etc...) and an option popped up letting me change the input method.

Where did you get imnuts' kernel? It has to be an mtd kernel and I thought the only one he released was in IRC and was included in the CM7 build he tweeted and released in IRC. If you did not get imnuts' CM7 build from IRC or his twitter post you will need to flash either the MTD OTB kernel from nemesis2all, the Glitch kernel from TK-Glitch, or reflash CM7 so you will have jt1134's included kernel.

In your app drawer there should be an app for Swiftkey X. Run the app and it will set you up. Could be the same for Flex, but I'm not sure.

cool. so if i d/l the newest nightly i shoudl be able to flash the same as the walktrhough?

this walkthrough [ROM] CyanogenMod 7 (fascinatemtd) pretty-much-official build 11.1 - [07/18/11] - xda-developers

and which cwm shoould be used?

Download the CM7 nightly and get it onto your phones SD card. Then reboot into CWM (you need to be using CWM 4.x which you can get from the link you posted) and choose Install Zip from SD card and pick the CM7 file. 5 minutes later you will be up on the nightly!

Good luck, enjoy and let us know how it went.

so got it all installed, but was wondering if there was a way to merge contacts on here like they did in froyo

Okay...I am extraordinarily confused. I am on KangBang 2.1. Apparently so much has surfaced since then! I see cyanogen 7 and then a post here: http://forums.androidcentral.com/ve...aked-gingerbread-ec09-full-stock-package.html.

I am always excited to try out new things but I don't know where to start!

My phone says:

Firmware: UKB 2.0
Baseband: S:i500.04 V.ED04
Kernel: 2.6.32.9
Build: SCH-I500.ED01

I remember flashing the KB 2.1 update though...anywho. Can someone give me some assistance? I never know anything about what modem to use with what. I usually just flash back to DL09 and get all of the OTA updates, which I'm about to do now. From there though, I don't know what to download. Too many choices to keep up with and understand the difference.

Any help is appraciated! :-D
